Se ha reunido el día 12 de diciembre en la Sala Capitular del Parador Nacional de Turismo de Monforte de Lemos el Comité de Investidura de la Cofradía para preparar el acto de Investidura que tendrá lugar en septiembre en Oporto.

 The Investiture Committee of the European Sailing Fraternity has met on December 12 in the Chapter Hall of the National Parador of Monforte de Lemos with the aim to prepare the Investiture ceremony  in September 2015 in Porto.

VISITA DEL CAPÍTULO DE LISBOA DE LA COFRADÍA EUROPEA DE LA VELA AL INSTITUTO HIDROGRÁFICO PORTUGUES

La Cofradía Europea de la Vela se presenta y realiza una visita oficial al Instituto Hidrográfico Portugués a través del Capítulo de Lisboa con el objetivo de dar a conocer la Cofradía a las instituciones y dar a conocer al gran público el trabajo que el Instituto Hidrográfico hace a favor de la Cultura Marítima y la navegación.

 

The European Sailing Fraternity is presented and makes an official visit to the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute thanks to the Lisbon Chapter. The aim of the visit was to promote the activities of the ESF and the Hydrographic Institute to develop the maritime culture and the navigation.

 

 

 

Capitulo de Lisboa en Instituto Hidrográfico //CEV-Cap. Lisboa

 

El 4 de diciembre de 2014, siete cofrades del Capítulo de Lisboa de la Cofradía Europea de la Vela (CEV) han participado en una visita oficial al Instituto Hidrográfico Portugués situado en Lisboa.

 

Los asistentes han sido:

La idea de realizar esta visita nació en una comida del Capítulo en la “Messe de Cascais” el 10 de julio de 2014 para generar ideas y propuestas de acción a favor de la vela, el mar y su cultura a través de la Cofradía.

El capítulo de Lisboa preparó un programa muy interesante para la visita con el objetivo de que los visitantes pudieran conocer la importancia del Instituto Hidrográfico Portugués como centro de referencia en el conocimiento y en la investigación del mar. +INFO: www.hidrografico.pt Es interesante el servicio de planeamiento de viajes en las costas portuguesas.

La visita presentación incluyó:

• Bienvenida oficial a cargo del Director General de Instituto Hidrográfico, el Contra-almirante Seabra de Melo en el Auditorio D. João de Castro.
• Exhibición del filme institucional y presentación de las actividades técnico-científicas del Instituto
• Visita guiada a las instalaciones.

Es de destacar en la visita los siguientes espacios:

•  Centro de datos técnico-científicos
• Divisón de navegación
• División de oceanografía
• División de hidrografía
• Laboratorio de Química y polución del medio marino
• Laboratorio de Geología Marina.
• Convento de las Trinas

 

Al finalizar la visita los miembros del Capítulo de Lisboa de la CEV firmaron en el Libro de Honra en la Biblioteca.

Los actos finalizaron con una comida de confraternización.

THE LISBON CHAPTER OF THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY VISITED THE HYDROGRAPHIC INSTITUTE OF PORTUGAL.

 

The European Sailing Fraternity is presented and makes an official visit to the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute thanks to the Lisbon Chapter. The aim of the visit was to promote the activities of the ESF and the Hydrographic Institute to develop the maritime culture and the navigation.

 

On December 4, 2014, seven brothers of the Lisbon Chapter of the European Sailing Fraternity (ESF) participated in an official visit to the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute located in Lisbon.

 

The representation of the European Sailing Fraternity was through:

• Jorge Pinheiro Arnoso
• José Pereira and his wife Malhão
• Luis Vasconcelos
• Mário Quina Gentil

The idea for this visit was born in a lunch-meeting of the Lisbon Chapter in the «Messe de Cascais» on July 10, 2014 with the aim to generate ideas and proposals of action for sailing, sea and maritime culture to develop through the Fraternity.

The Lisbon Chapter prepared a very interesting program of visit with the aim that visitors could learn about the importance of the Portuguese Hydrographic Institute as a reference center on knowledge and research of the sea. + INFO: www.hidrografico.pt It is interesting the service of planning voages to help in the portuguese navigation.

The visit included:

• Welcome words from the Managing Director of the Hydrographic Institute, the Rear Admiral Seabra de Melo in the D. João de Castro Auditorium.
•  Display the institutional film and presentation of technical and scientific activities of the Institute 
•  Guided tour of the facilities.

 

It is noteworthy in visiting the following areas:

• Technical and scientific Data Centre
• Navigation Divisón
• Oceanography División
• Hydrography Division
• Laboratory of Chemistry and pollution of the marine environment
• Laboratory of Marine Geology.
• Convent Trinas

After the visit, the members of the Lisbon Chapter- ESF signed in the Book of Honor at the Library of the Institute.The events ended with a fraternization lunch.

La Cofradía Europea de la Vela, a través del Capítulo de Baleares ha  organiza en el Consulat del Mar con el apoyo del Govern de Baleares una conferencia con el nombre “los barcos del descubrimiento” a cargo del cofrade Diego Colón y Carvajal con una introducción del también cofrade Camilo José Cela.

The European Sailing Fraternity, through the Balearic Chapter has organized in the Consulat del Mar with support of the Government of the Balearic Islands, a conference named «The Ships of Discovery» by the brother Diego Colón y Carvajal with an introduction by also brother Camilo José Cela.

LA COFRADIA EUROPEA DE LA VELA SE PRESENTA A LA ISAF Y CELEBRAR UNA REUNIÓN DE LA TABLA DONDE SE INCORPORAN NUEVOS MIEMBROS

La Cofradía Europea de la Vela se ha presentado a la ISAF en el marco de las actividades organizadas en Mallorca el día 6 de noviembre en el Club de Mar de Palma y ha celebrado una Junta Directiva (Tabla) en la que ha acordado entre otros temas la incorporación de24  nuevos cofrades.

La Cofradía trata de transmitir los valores que a los hombres y mujeres del mar nos acompañan dentro de la Cofradía. Quien mejor para mostrarlos que Enrique Boissier que después de un accidente que lo dejó en coma se superó y ha navegado en 8 ocasiones a América desde sus amadas Islas Canarias.

 

The European Sailing Fraternity tries to convey the values that the men and women of the sea accompany us into the Brotherhood. The best representation of these values is Enrique Boissier who after an accident that left him in a coma he has sailed 8 times to America from his beloved Canaries Islands.

La Cofradía Europea de la Vela presenta el programa definitivo de actos a celebrar en Palma de Mallorca empezando el jueves 6 de noviembre y finalizando el sábado 8. Destacar la presentación de la Cofradía a la ISAF el jueves 6  las 18:30 y el día 7 a las 18:00 la conferencia al sobre «Barcos del Descubrimiento» a cargo de Diego Colón de Carvajal.

The European Sailing Fraternity presents its final program of the events in Palma de Mallorca that they will start on Thrusday 6 of November and will end Saturday 8. It is remarkable the presentation of the Fraternity to the ISAF (International Sailing Federation) on Thursday 6 at 18:30 and on 7th at 18:00 the conference «Ships of Discover» by Diego de Colón de Carvajal.

Success of the acts of the Fraternity in Burgos. LA COFRADÍA EUROPEA DE LA VELA EN LA INTERNATIONAL SAILING WEEK DE QINGDAO (CHINA)

Como en años anteriores, la CEV ha estado presente en la Semana Internacional de Qingdao, que se ha celebrado en dicha ciudad en el mes de Agosto. El cofrade y miembro de la Tabla, Joan Camuñas, ha representado la Cofradía en dicho evento y ha entregado la metopa y gallardete de nuestra Cofradía a la Sra. Zang Aimin, vicealcaldesa de la ciudad y presidenta de la Federación de Vela de Qingdao.

VIAJE CONFRATERNIZACION BURGOS 3. PROGRAMA DEFINITIVO

La Cofradía presenta el programa definitivo del viaje de confraternización y la confirmación de la Conferencia sobre el primer Almirante de la Marina de Castilla Ramón de Bonifaz quien reconquisto Sevilla en el siglo XIII, natural y fallecido en Burgos.

 

The European Sailing Fraternity presents the final program of the Fraternization Trip and the Conference about the First Admiral of Castilla Navy, Ramón de Bonifaz, who conquested Seville in the XIII century, birth and dead in Burgos.

 

 

LA CONFRERIE DE LA SARDINE (COFRADIA DE LA SARDINA) DESIGNA COMO GRAN SARDINERO DE HONOR AL GRAN MAESTRE DE LA COFRADIA EUROPEA DE LA VELA.

La vela y el producto atlántico de la sardina se han unido en San Gilles de Croix de Ville (La Vendee, Pays de Loire, Francia) el pasado 17 de julio.

Sailing and atlantic product sardine joined St. Gilles Croix de Ville (La Vendee, Pays de Loire, France) on 17 July.

 

Nuestro Gran Maestre aprovechando su participación como presidente del Comité Internacional de los Juegos Atlánticos en la 20 edición que se celebraba en esa localidad, fue invitado a formar parte en representación de la Cofradía Europea de la Vela, de la Cofradía de la Sardina.

Esta Cofradía nació hace más de 100 años, promovida por la gente del mar y pescadores de la villa de Saint Gilles de Croix de Ville, que es el puerto pesquero de referencia en el Departamento de La Vendee, que es la provincia departida de la famosa vuelta al mundo Vendee Globe (Sables d´Olone) http://www.vendeeglobe.org  y sede de Beneteau.

El acto de investidura incluyó, la lectura del juramento, imposición de capa y la degustación de la sardina tradicional de la zona.

Junto al Gran Maestre, Francisco Quiroga, fueron investidos el Presidente del Comité Olímpico Regional del País de la Loire, Yunsan Meas y el Presidente del Comité Organizador de los Atlantic Games, Marcel Retailleau, que es miembro de nuestra Cofradía Europea de la Vela. Los padrinos de los nuevos miembros fueron los Alcaldes de Saint Gilles de Croix de Ville, La Roch sur Yon y Saint Hilaire (villa de 5000 habitantes que en verano alcanza los 60.000)

Destacar como dato curioso que cada año la fábrica principal de conserva “conserverie Gendreau” cambia cada año la imagen de una de sus líneas seleccionando en un concurso en pintores locales la que será el cuadro a reproducir en las latas del año siguiente. CONFRERIE OF THE SARDINE (FRATERNITY OF THE  SARDINE) DESIGNED  GRAND MASTER OF HONOR TO GRAND MASTER OF THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY.

 

Our Grand Master in his participation as president of the International Committee of the Atlantic Games in the 20th edition being held in that city, he was invited to take part on behalf of the European Sailing Fraternity, as the Brotherhood of the Sardine.

This Brotherhood was born over 100 years ago, promoted by seafarers and fishermen from the village of Saint Gilles Croix de Ville, which is the fishing port of reference in the department of La Vendee, which is the departure province of the famous Vendee Globe round the world (Sables d’Olone) http://www.vendeeglobe.org headquarters and Beneteau.

The investiture ceremony included the reading of the oath, the imposition of a official cape and a traditional tasting of a sardine of the area.

Along the Grand Master, Francisco Quiroga, were invested the Regional President of Olympic Committee of Pays de la Loire, Yunsan Meas and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Atlantic Games, Marcel Retailleau, a member of our European Sailing Fraternity. Sponsors of the new members were the mayors of Saint Gilles Croix de Ville, La Roch sur Yon and Saint Hilaire (town of 5,000 inhabitants that in summer reaches 60,000)

Lisboa acoge una reunión del Capítulo de Lisboa de la Cofradía Europea de la Vela en la que se propone el desarrollo de Conferencias en colaboración  con el Instituto Hidrográfico y la Academia de la Marinha y el apoyo al Paseo Fluvial de embarcaciones tradicionales del Río Tajo.

SAN SIMON VUELVE A SER UN FARO DE CULTURA Y CONFRATERNIZACION GRACIAS A LA COFRADIA EUROPEA DE LA VELA

Puente de Rande desde la Illa de San Simón

Galicia organiza el 2 Foro CEV dedicado a la Batalla de Rande, la Disputa sobre la Illa de San Simón como Lazareto del Atlántico en España, la Monarquía española en la época de Napoleon III en Francia a través de las Caricaturas y los efectos del Prestige sobre las personas. Además tuvieron lugar reuniones de trabajo de la Cofradía, visitas y un homenaje a los cofrades fallecidos.

Galicia has organized the second European Sailing Fraternity Forum dedicated to the Battle of Rande, disputes over de Illa de San Simon as Atlantic Lazaretto of Spain, the Spanish Monarchy in the Napoleon the third times via cartoonist and the effects of the Prestige oil disaster on humans. Besides they took place work meetings of the Fraternity, visits and a Memorial to the deceased Brothers.

Una delegación de miembros de la Cofradía Europea de la Vela asistieron a los II Premios LIDE Economía del Mar que reconocen a las empresas, entidades y personas que han sobresalido por su talento en el desarrollo de la economía del mar

A delegation of members of the European Sailing Fraternity participated in the Lide Sea Awards. This Economy Sea awards recognizes companies, organizations and individuals who have excelled by their talent in developing the economy

EL CAPITULO DE LA COFRADIA DE MADRID SE REUNE Y PREPARA ACTIVIDADES

 

Reunión miembros Capítulo de Madrid

 

El Capítulo de Madrid constituído por 19 Cofrades se ha reunido en la Cámara de Oficiales de la Armada para celebrar su reunión trimestral con la asistencia de la mitad de sus miembros.

 

Por un lado han analizado posibles actividades a promover para la Cofradía y cofrades de Madrid. En la reunión se acordo preparar un viaje de confraternización en Valencia.

 

El evento consistirá en un día de navegación en Valencia, en el barco Buen Vino Tinto. Valicceli de 65 pies, con trinqueta y yanky, burdas, sin ayuda hidráulica o eléctrica. Esta actividad estará abierta a otros cofrades de la Cofradía.

 

Para desarrollar esta actividad mantendrán una nueva reunión el 3 de julio en la Cámara de Oficiales de la que se dará cumplida información para los interesados.

Barco para viaje confraternización en Valencia

 

 

THE CHAPTER OF THE FELLOWSHIP OF MADRID ACTIVITIES MEETS AND PREPARE

 

The Chapter of Madrid of the European Sailing Fraternity is constituted by 19 Brothers and they met at the House of Officers of the Navy to hold its quarterly meeting with the participation of half of its members.

 

They have studied the possible activities to promote from the Brotherhood and brothers of Madrid. At the meeting they decided to prepare a Fraternization trip in Valencia.

 

The event will consist of a day of sailing in Valencia, on the boat Buen Vino Tinto. Valicceli 65 feet, with staysail, Yankee and other equipment without hydraulic or electrical assistance. This activity will be open to other brothers of the Fraternity

 

To develop this activity they will remain a further meeting on 3 July in the House of Officers. They will report about this activity to the stakeholders.

Nuestro Cofrade de Burgos Anastasio Pérez Torres, tras su estancia en los actos de Santiago de Compostela, propone organizar un viaje de confraternización por las tierras de Burgos.

 

Los viajes de confraternización es una actividad que se ha venido desarrollando desde el nacimiento de la Cofradía como una forma distinta de conocer el patrimonio y la cultura del mundo a partir de viajes preparados especialmente por y para la cofradía.

 

Este será el cuarto viaje de confraternización que se organiza. Los anteriores han sido a China, Rusia y la subida por el Douro. No se tienen en cuenta los que se organizan en el marco de las Investiduras.

La propuesta de nuestro cofrade Anastasio sería para el 12, 13 y 14 de septiembre de 2014.

 

El programa incluye visita a Monasterios, Catedral y varias bodegas de la Ruta del Vino del Duero. Además de un Foro CEV y un concierto.

 

Destacar que el primer día habrá una conferencia a celebrar en alguno de los siguientes espacios:

a.- Arco de Santa María: puerta de Burgos llegando desde el Sur. Es un espléndido edificio del siglo XVI, erigido en homenaje al César y Emperador Carlos I de España V de Alemania, el cual no estaba muy seguro de la lealtad de la vieja ciudad de Burgos, Cabeza de Castilla, en el marco histórico de la disputa de las Comunidades. Construido sobre la vieja puerta  desde la que se arrojó al vacío doña Lambra, la protagonista negativa, de la leyenda de los siete Infantes de Lara.

b. El Monasterio de San Juan ha sido además de Cenobio benedictino Hospital de Peregrinos en la Edad Media y su Sala Capitular es excepcional.

Llegada a Burgos y alojamiento en Hotel que designará el organizador.

18:00 hrs . Conferencia: EL PAPEL DE RAMÓN DE BONIFAZ EN LA CONSTRUCCIÓN DEL ESPÍRITU DE OCCIDENTE, por el Catedrático y Poeta, Tino Barriuso en el Arco de Santa María o en la Sala Capitular del Monasterio de San Juan, ambos en el centro de la ciudad.

20:00 h. Paseo por la zona peatonal del Casco Histórico,

22:00 h. Cena en el restaurante PUERTA REAL, al lado del arco y de la catedral,

23:00 h. A los postres, velada músico-literaria, con el maestro Mariano Mangas a la guitarra.

 

SÁBADO 13:

10:30 h. Salida de Burgos en autobús con dirección a la Ribera del Duero.

12:00 h. Visita a las bodegas «Viña Pedrosa» de los hermanos Pérez Pascuas, pioneros del éxito de la denominación de origen y unos de los  valores más seguros de la misma.

14:30 h. Visita a la Bodega y Comida en el restaurante-bodega TORREMILANOS, en Aranda de Duero.

20:00 h. Visita a la catedral de Burgos, con posible concierto de órgano en la Capilla de los Condestables de Castilla,

21:30 h. Tiempo libre por la zona peatonal de Burgos,

 

DOMINGO 14

10:30 h. Visita al Monasterio de las Huelgas Reales, fundado por Alfonso VIII, el rey de la batalla de las Navas de Tolosa y Leonor de Aquitania, hermana de Ricardo Corazón de León que están enterrados en el propio Monasterio, contemporáneos del almirante Bonifaz (Primer Almirante de la Marina de Castilla).

 

(*)  La posible visita a la Cartuja de Miraflores donde están enterrados los padres de Isabel la Católica (Pendiente de disponibilidad  de tiempo y de retrasos en visitas anteriores).

(**) La cena del sábado y comida del domingo las programaremos oportunamente cercana la fecha de llegada.

(***) Si hay gente interesada se puede organizar una visita al Museo de la evolución humana o a la Exposición Internacional las Edades del Hombre que en esas fechas estará en Aranda del Duero.

(****) Los costes correrán a cargo de cada cofrade como ocurre en estas actividades. El organizador remitirá información a aquellos interesados  para quese  puedan tomar las decisiones.

2014 CONFRATERNIZATION TRIP. CITY OF BURGOS AND VISIT WINERIES OF THE WINE ROUTE OF RIBERA DEL DUERO

 

Our Brother Anastasio Perez Torres Burgos, after his stay in the events of Santiago de Compostela,has proposed to organize a trip in the lands of Burgos.

 

Fraternization Trips are an activity that has been developing since the birth of the Fraternity as a different way of knowing the heritage and culture of the world from a  travel prepared especially for the Fraternity.

 

This will be the fourth trip that is organized by the Fraterntiy. The other have been to China, Russia and the climb up the Douro.We aAre not taken into account other  which are organized as part of the Endowment events.

 

The proposal would be for our brother Anastasio  i s on 12, 13 and 14 September 2014.

 

The program includes visits to monasteries, cathedral and several wineries in the Douro Wine Route. In addition it will be a CEV Forum and a musical concert.

The first day will be a conference to be held in any of the following facilities:

a – Arco de Santa María. Burgos,  door coming from the South. It is a splendid XVI century building, erected in tribute to Caesar, Emperor Charles I of Spain and  Vof  Germany, which was not quite sure of the loyalty of the old city of Burgos, Head of Castile, in the historical context of the dispute of the Communities. Built on the old door from which Dona Lambra vacuum, negative protagonist of the Legend of the Seven Infantes de Lara threw.

b. The Monastery of San Juan s exceptional and it has been well known Cenobio Benedictine, Hospital Pilgrims in the Middle Ages and a Chapter House.

14:30 h. Winery Tour and Dinner in TORREMILANOS, cellar restaurant in Aranda de Duero.

20:00 pm. Visit to the Cathedral of Burgos, with possible organ concert in the Chapel of the Constables of Castile

21:30 h. Free time in the pedestrian area of Burgos,

 

SUNDAY 14

10:30 AM. Visit the Monastery of Huelgas Reales, founded by Alfonso VIII, King of the Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa and Eleanor of Aquitaine, sister of Richard the Lionheart are buried in the monastery itself, contemporary Admiral Bonifaz (First Admiral of Marina Castilla).

 

(*) Possible visit to the Charterhouse of Miraflores where parents of Isabel the Catholic are buried. (Pending availability of time and delays on previous visits)

(**) Restarurant on Saturday dinner and Sunday lunch will be designated near the schedule timely arrival.

EL CAPITULO DE CANARIAS COMIENZA SU SINGLADURA.

Capítulo de Canarias

El pasado 24 de abril los miembros de Capítulo de Canarias se reunieron en el Club Náutico de las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Asistieron Juan Marrero Portugués, Jorge Cantero Del Río, José María Navarro Pereira, Felipe Del Rosario, José García-Tuñón, Juan Miranda, Juan Pereira, Rafael Del Castillo Morales, Patricia Guerra y Enrique Boissier Pérez.

 

En la reunión se trataron entre otros los siguientes temas:

 

Comida de confraternización Capítulo

1º “Encuentro en Santiago de Compostela de la Cofradía”. Se analizó el gran éxito de las actividades desarrolladas con una asistencia de 120 cofrades, de los cuales casi treinta estaban repartidos entre los siguientes países: Chile, Venezuela, Uruguay, Argentina, Ecuador, Brasil, Paraguay, Malta, Italia, Puerto Rico y Reino Unido.

2º “Próxima reunión de la C.E.V. (Cofradía Europea de Vela)”. Se analizó la próxima celebración en Oporto y las posibilidades que las Islas Canarias y en concreto Lanzarote ofrecen para dar cabida a algún evento de la Cofradía.

3º Se analizaron grandes regatas que podrían desarrollarse a nivel internacional en las que la Islas Canarias fueran punto de partida o llegada.

4º Comisión del Capítulo de la Cofradía en Canarias Se acordó formar una pequeña comisión de cómo máximo 3 personas, presidida por don Juan Marrero Portugués, para actuar ante todas las autoridades locales, nacionales e internacionales de los futuros eventos. Esta comisión estará formada por: Enrique Boissier, Juan Miranda y Juan Pereira.

5º Encuentro Capítulo de Canarias con Autoridades varias. Se comentó la necesidad de darnos a conocer ante los diversos clubes e instituciones, quiénes somos, cuáles son nuestros objetivos y prestarnos para colaborar en la organización de posibles futuras actuaciones. En primer lugar, por supuesto, y dado que ése es nuestro punto de encuentro, al Presidente del RCNGC y a continuación con el resto de instituciones y clubes.

6º Propuestas de futuros Cofrades. Se analizaron potenciales nuevos cofrades con los que se contactará para invitarlos a la Gran Familia de la Vela que es nuestra Cofradía. El resultado de las gestiones será remitido a la Tabla para su estudio y aprobación en su caso.

THE CHAPTER OF CANARY ISLANDS BEGINS THEIR MEETINGS.

 

On 24 April members of the Chapter of Canary Islands  met at the Yacht Club de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. At the meeting assisted Juan Marrero Portuguese, Jorge Cantero Del Río, José María Navarro Pereira, Felipe del Rosario, José García-Tuñón, Juan Miranda, Juan Pereira, Rafael Del Castillo Morales, Patricia Guerra and Enrique Pérez Boissier.

 

They talked about these topics:

 

1 «Assessment of the activities of the Fraternity in Santiago de Compostela”: It was analyzed the  success of the activities carried out with an attendance of 120 brothers, of whom about thirty were distributed among the following countries: Chile, Venezuela, Uruguay, Argentina, Ecuador, Brazil, Paraguay, Malta, Italy, Puerto Rico and United Kingdom.

2. «Next meeting of the C.E.V. (European Sailing Fraternity) «. They analyse the next celebration in Oporto and the possibilities that the Canary Islands and specifically Lanzarote can offer to accommodate an event of the Fraternity.

3. They analyzed great races that could be developed internationally in the Canary Islands as a point of departure or arrival.

4. Commission of the  Chapter of the Fratenity in Canary Islands. They were agreed to form a small committee of at most 3 persons, chaired by Juan Marrero Portuguese, to present and represent  the Fraternity to all authorities in local, national and international future events. This committee will be form by: Enrique Boissier, Juan Miranda and Juan Pereira.

5. Meetings of the  Chapter of  Canarias with various authorities. They were talking aobut the need to make ourselves known to the clubs and institutions, and present  who we are, what our goals are and lend to collaborate in organizing possible future events. First of all visits it should be the President of RCNGC, as meeting point of this Chapter,  and then with the other institutions and clubs.

6. Proposals for future Brothers. There were analyse potential new brothers to be invited to the Great Family of  Sailing that our Brotherhood is. The result of the negotiations will be submitted to the Boards of Directors for consideration and approval in its case.

PRESENTADO LIBRO “MAS ALLA DEL HORIZONTE. LAS MIL MILLAS DEL MENORCA” ESCRITO POR NUESTRO COFRADE RAFAEL TORRENT

Nuestro cofrade Rafael Torrent ha escrito y presentado su nuevo libro. La presentación del libro se hizo el pasado 25 de Abril en el Club Nàutico de Ciutadella a cargo de Enric Curt que se desplazó exprofeso para ello y que representaba a Curt Ediciones y que fue el organizador de las 4 ediciones de esa regata..

El título «Más allá del horizonte» Las mil millas del Menorca, versa sobre la participación de Rafael en esta regata “Mil Millas a Dos” hace ya 30 años y que organizaba la revista Skipper liderada por Enric Curt. Se trata de su experiencia en esta regata que fue, además su bautizo en regatas de altura. Narra la preparación de la regata, el recorrido como si fuera un cuaderno de bitácora, y las conclusiones. Esta regata fue de 1.000 millas con solo dos tripulantes a bordo, ellos tardaron 11 días en acabarla.

El prólogo del libro ha sido escrito por nuestra cofrade Camilo J. Cela Conde y en el acto de presentación estuvo acompañado por otro cofrade, Joaquim Coello, lo que da muestra del apoyo y participación de miembros de la Cofradía en otras actividades de los cofrades.

El salón de actos del club estuvo a rebosar con mucha gente sin poder sentarse. Muchos querían escuchar a Rafael Torrent que además es el actual comodoro del Club Ciudadelano.

THE BOOK «BEYOND THE HORIZON. THOUSAND MILES IN THE “MENORCA” » WRITTEN BY OUR FRATERNITY MEMBER, RAFAEL TORRENT, HAS BEEN PRESENTED IN CIUTADELLA

 

Our colleague Rafael Torrent has written and presented his new book. The presentation took place last April 25 at the Yacht Club of Ciutadella by Enric Curt, who travelled expressly for it and representing Curt Ediciones. He was the organizer of 4 editions of the race.

 

The title » Beyond the Horizon » Thousand miles in the “Menorca”, is about the Rafael´s participation in this race «A Thousand Miles with two» celebrated 30 years ago organized by the magazine Skipper led by Enric Curt. It talk about his experience in this race that it was also his baptism in the regattas. He explains the preparation of the race , the route like a logbook , and the conclusions. This race was 1,000 miles with only two crew on board, it took them 11 days to reach the finish.

 

The book’s foreword was written by Camilo J. Cela Conde our brother of the Fraternity and in the presentation event Rafael was accompanied by another brother, Joaquim Coello. That demonstrates the support and participation of members of the Brotherhood in other activities of the brothers .

LA COFRADIA ORGANIZA EL SEGUNDO FORO CEV ILLA SAN SIMON

Como el pasado año, la Fundacion » Illa de San Simón», perteneciente a la Consellería de Cultura, Educación y Ordenación Universitaria de la Xunta de Galicia nos ha concedido las fechas 27-28 y 29 de junio para que podamos celebrar el II Foro CEV organizado por el Capítulo de Galicia y que este año tendrá un marcado carácter cultural y medioambiental.

 

Se organizarán actividades culturales y de confraternización para todos los cofrades que decidan asistir con acompañantes y amigos como la visita guiada a los 29 puntos de interés de la Isla o las comidas y cenas de confraternización.

THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY ORGANIZES THE SECOND FORUM CEV “ILLA DE SAN SIMON”

 

Like last year, the Illa de San Simón Trust, belonging to the Regional Ministry of Culture , Education and University Planning of the Xunta de Galicia has given us the dates 27-28 and June 29 to be in The Illa San Simón Facilities, so we can celebrate the II Forum CEV organized by the Chapter of Galicia and this year it will be about cultural and environmental themes.

 

The Galician Chapter organizes Cultural activities to all the brothers, colleagues and friends as a visit guided at 29 sites in the Island and fraternization dinner and meals.

 

Though activities begin June 27 Forum will be held over two days on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29. The presentations and speakers are:

EL BUQUE ESCUELA “JUAN SEBASTIÁN DE ELCANO” HACE ESCALA EN LA REPÚBLICA DOMINICANA Y NUESTRO COFRADE HECTOR DUVAL COLABORA EN LA ORGANIZACIÓN DE LA REGATA COPA JUAN SEBASTIÁN ELCANO.

 

El buque escuela de la Armada Española ha recalado en abril en el puerto de Santo Domingo después de 6 años desde su última visita en 2008. Nuestro cofrade Héctor Duval ha colaborado a través de la Asociación Dominicana de Veleros de Competencia Oceánica y la Federación Dominicana de Vela en la organización de la Regata Copa Juan Sebastián Elcano como acto de confraternización con el buque escuela.

LA COFRADIA EUROPEA DE LA VELA YA FORMA PARTE DE LA COFRADIA DO CORPO SANTO DE MASSARELOS

El 26 de abril una representación de la Cofradía Europea de la Vela ha tomado parte en los actos de entronización celebrados en Oporto. La comitiva esta presidida por nuestro Gran Maestre Francisco Quiroga y acompañado de Antonio Roquette, Guilherme Guimeraens, Miguel Marques y los también cofrades de CEV y de la Cofradia de las Almas do Corpo Santo de Massarelo de Porto, Vicente Ferreira y Alfonso Themudo.

 

Además de la entronización de nuestro Gran Maestre en nombre de la Cofradía Europea de la Vela tuvieron lugar los siguientes actividades:

1. Inauguración de la exposición de Fotografía del 20 aniversario de la Regata del Infante, acto que estuvo presidido por el Ministro de Defensa de Portugal y el Teniente de Alcalde de Oporto.

2. Procesión fluvial en honra a San Telmo

3. Bendición de embarcaciones en río Douro

4. Eucaristía en la Iglesia del Cuerpo Santo de Massarelos y encerramento

 

 

 

Todas las actividades se desarrollaron en un ambiente de Fraternidad entre ambas Cofradías.  Un área de colaboración es en la Celebración de la Regata do Infante  que conmemora los descubrimiento marítimos de los Portugueses. En años anteriores subió por el río Douro con gran atracción de público en sus márgenes. En el año 2012 fueron 37 veleros los que participaron. En 2013 se celebró en mayo con el nombre de Regato do Infante – Trofeo Volvo.

THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY IS A FORMER MEMBER OF THE COFRADIA DO CORPO SANTO DE MASSARELOS

 

On April 26, a representation of the European Sailing Fratentiy has taken part in the acts of endowment of the Confradia do Corpo Santo de Massarelo  held in Oporto. The delegation of the Sailing Fraternity was led by our Grand Master Francisco Quiroga and accompanied by Antonio Roquette , Guilherme Guimeraens , Miguel Marques and also brothers of the Confradia do Corpo Santo de Massarelos and members of the CEV Vicente Ferreira and Alfonso Themudo.

 

In addition to the endowment events made by  our Grand Master on behalf of the European Sailing Fratenity, took place the following activities:

1. Inauguration of the exhibition of Photography of the 20th anniversary of Infante Regatta , an event that was chaired by the Minister of Defence of Portugal and the Deputy Mayor of Oporto Municipality.

2. A Fluvial procession in honour to San Telmo

3. Blessing of boats in river Douro.

4. Eucharist in the Church of the Corpo Santo de Massarelos and the “encerramento”.

All activities are conducted in an atmosphere of fraternity between the two guilds . One area of collaboration it Could be the Infante Regatta, who talks about the maritime discoveries of the Portugueses. In previous years this Regata climbed the Douro river with great public attraction in their margins. In 2012 were 37 sailboats who participated. In 2013 was held in May with the name Regata do Infante – Volvo Challenge.

LA COFRADIA ES NOTICIA EN ITALIA GRACIAS AL CENTRO DE ESTUDIOS DE TRADICION NAUTICA Y NUESTRO COFRADES ITALIANOS

El Centro de Estudios de Tradición Náutica (Centro de Studi Tradizioni Nautiche) de Italia promovido por la Liga Naval Italiana ha publicado un artículo sobre la Cofradía Europea de la Vela en su publicación mensual “NOTIZIARIO CSTN” que ha sido distribuida a mas de 1200 amigos de la Vela en Italia.

 

Es de agradecer la labor que los cofrades de Italia en la difusión de la Cofradía en un país con la tradición navegante de Italia.

 

El artículo hace un repaso por la tipología de miembros de nuestra fraternidad que según recoge “reúne a campeones olímpicos internacionales y nacionales, presidentes de Federaciones y dirigentes de altísimo nivel en el seno de la ISAF, regatistas, navegantes, deportista, Oficiales de las Marinas Nacionales, escritores, jornalistas…”

 

Posteriormente hace una mención a los Capítulos, al Gran Maestre Francisco Quiroga y a los tres representantes de Italia, Carlo Rolandi, Agostino Randazzo y Paolo Rastrelli.

Por último, el artículo resalta el Miniforo Internacional celebrado en Santiago de Compostela organizado por Joan Antón Camuñas, presidente del Comité de Foros y Conferencias en la que respasan lo interesante de las conferencias de Octavio E. Jarrín (Presidente de la Federación de Vela de Sudamérica), W. Scott Perry (Presidente de la Federación Panamericana de Vela) la de Sarah Treseder (Secretaria General del RYA-Federación de Vela del Reino Unido) y por su puesto la de Carlo Rolandi, Presidente Honorario de la Federación Italiana de Vela en la que desarrolló los retos de la profesionalización y de la sponsorización en el deporte de la vela, así como la metamorfosis que esta actividad está sufriendo en Italia y en el resto del mundo.

THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY IS NEWS IN ITALY THANKS TO NAUTICAL TRADITION STUDIES CENTRE AND OUR ITALIAN MEMBERS

 

The Nautical Tradition Studies Centre (Centro de Studi Tradizioni Nautiche) of Italy managed by Liga Naval of Italy has published an article on the European Sailing Fratenity in its monthly publishment “NOTIZIARIO CSTN” and it has been delivered to more than 1200 friends of the sailing in Italy.

 

We have to give thanks to the member of Italy for the dissemination of the Fraternity in a country like Italy with such an important role in navigation tradition.

 

The article makes a review about the type of members of our Fraternity saying that “the Fraternity is a meeting point of national and international Olympic champions, presidents of Sailing Federations and members of the highest level in the organizations as ISAF, sailing racers, sailors, Official of the National Navies, writers, journalist…

Finally, the article talks about the International Miniforum celebratation in Santiago de Compostela organized by Joan Antón Camuñas, president of the Conferences and Forums Committee in which it has been studied through interesting conferences of Octavio E. Jarrín (President of the Southamerica Sailing Federation), W. Scott Perry (President of the Panamerica Sailing Federation), Sarah Treseder (General Secretary of the RYA-United Kingdom Sailing Federation) and by Carlo Rolandi, President of Honor of the Italian Sailing Federation. He explained the challenges of the professionalization and the sponsored in the sailing sport and the changes in this activity in Italy and the rest of the world.

EUROPA CONTARÁ CON UNA TRAVESIA QUE UNIRÁ ITALIA Y GALICIA. LA TRAVESIA NAUTICA XACOBEA

La asociación gallega Asnauga con la Xunta de Galicia y la Federación de Municipios de Galicia presidida por nuestro colaborador el Alcalde de Ferrol están organizando la Travesía Náutica Xacobea para Junio-Julio 2014 para conmemorar el aniversario de los 800 años del nacimiento de San Francisco de Asís y de al peregrinación de San Francisco de Asís a Santiago de Compostela.

 

Se ha organizado en dos rutas. Una por el Mediterraneo con 1.542 millas y 14 etapas y otra por el Atlántico con Ribadeo para punto de encuentro de embarcaciones de Irlanda, Reino Unido y Francia y luego en flotilla hasta la Ría de Arousa.

 

Se podrá participar con embarcación o como peregrino navegante. La inscripción es gratuita. No es necesario hacer la travesía completa. Los barcos se pueden unir en el puerto que quieran de las dos rutas.

 

Se entregará un pasaporte náutico que se sellarán en los puertos y permitirá lograr la Compostelana y la Cotolaya (otorgada por orden franciscana y solo este año) siempre que se hayan realizado 90 millas y se termine la travesía.

EUROPE WILL BE UNITED BY GALICIA AND ITALY THROUG SAINT JAMES NAUTICAL VOYAGE

 

The Galician Association Asnauga, the government of Xunta de Galicia and the Galician Municipalities Federation, who is chairman our collaborator the major of the town of Ferrol are organizing the Saint James Nautical Voyage from June andJuly 2014 to commemorate the anniversary of the 800th of the birth of St. Francis of Assisi and the pilgrimage of St. Francis of Assisi to Santiago de Compostela.

 

It is organized into two routes . One for the Mediterranean with 1542 miles and 14 stages and other over the Atlantic with Ribadeo meeting point for boats from Ireland , UK and France. Therefore they will go together in flotilla to the Ria de Arosa.

You can participate with your boat or as pilgrim sailor. Registration is free. No need to make the full journey. Boats can join in the port that you want about the two routes .

 

A nautical passport is stamped at the ports and you could achieve Compostelana and the Cotolaya ( awarded by Franciscan order and only this year) if it has been done 90 miles and the journey is complete

LA COFRADIA EUROPEA DE LA VELA NUEVO SOCIO HONORARIO DE LA COFRADIA MAS ANTIGUA DE PORTUGAL “CONFRADIA DAS ALMAS DO CORPO SANTO DE MASSARELOS

Actos entronización 2013 Confradía das Almas

 

En la última reunión de la Tabla el 7 de marzo de 2014 se acordó aceptar la invitación a formar parte como Confrade Honorario de la Confradía Das Almas do Corpo Santo de Massarelos, facultando al Gran Maestre para que represente a nuestra cofradía y participe en los actos de entronización que tendrá lugar en Oporto el 26 de abril de 2014.

 

La Confradía das Almas do Corpo Santo de Massarelos, es la Cofradía más antigua de Portugal creada en 1394 y a la que perteneció el Infante Dom Henrique de Avis también conocido como Infante de Sagres o O Navegador. Esta Cofradía cuenta con museo.

 

Esta Cofradía adoptó como Patrono a San Telmo, el Santo de los Navegantes, festividad que también se celebra en Tui en Galicia, o en Sant Elm en Lloret de Mar en Cataluña donde existe una cofradía bajo su advocación. En el caso de Tui, todos los años acuden barcos y hacen una procesión entre Portugal y España.

 

2013. Momento de Entronización

Se considera desde la Cofradía Europea de la Vela que esta nueva línea de colaboración con otras cofradías se podría extender a otras como la de Lloret del Mar y establecer algún tipo de acuerdo similar al que se propone con la de las Almas do Corpo Santo de Massarelos. Nuestro Capítulo de Cataluña cuidará de explorar y gestionar esta iniciativa.

 

Es de agradecer la invitación realizada por nuestro nuevo cofrade Vicente Magalhaes Ferreira para incorporarse la CEV a la Confradía das Almas esperando que los actos de entronización en Oporto sean un éxito y el inicio de una nueva navegación unida de nuestros pueblos.

THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY WILL BE AN HONOUR PARTNER OF THE OLDEST FRATERNITY OF PORTUGAL » CONFRADIA DAS ALMAS DO CORPO SANTO DE MASSARELOS”

At the last meeting of the Board of Directors (Tabla) on March 7, 2014 it was agreed to accept the invitation to join as Honorary Member of the Fraternity “Das Almas do Corpo Santo Massarelos” , authorizing the Grand Master to represent our brotherhood and be part of the actions of the endowment that will take place in Porto on April 26, 2014 .

The Fraternity “das Almas Massarelos do Corpo Santo” , is the oldest Guild of Portugal created in 1394. The Infante Dom Henrique Avis O Infante de Sagres, know as the “Navegante” was one of the first member. This fraternity has a museum .

This Brotherhood adopted as Patron to San Telmo, the Holy of Navegantes , the feast also celebrated in Tui in Galicia, or Sant Elm in Lloret de Mar in Catalonia where there is a Fraternity under his patronage. Every year, boats come and make a procession between Portugal and Spain in Tui

It is considered from the European Sailing Fraternity a new line of collaboration with other guilds that it could be extended to others such as Lloret del Mar and establish some sort of similar arrangement to that proposed with “Confradía das Almas do Corpo Santo Massarelos” . Our Chapter of Catalonia will explore and manage care for this initiative.

Thankfully the invitation made by our new member Vicente Magalhaes Ferreira onto the CEV from the “Confradia das Almas”. We know that the events on the endowment in Porto will be a success and the beginning of a new navigation of our people united. NUESTRO COFRADE JOAN ANTON CAMUÑAS PARTICIPA EN EL PRIMER CONGRESO NACIONAL OLIMPICO DE PORTUGAL

Nuestro Cofrade Joan Antón Camuñas, Presidente del Comité de Foros y Conferencias ha sido invitado por el Presidente del Comité Olímpico de Portugal, Dr. José M. Constantino, a pronunciar la conferencia inaugural del 1er. Congreso Nacional Olímpico de Portugal, que ha tenido lugar en el municipio de Maia (cerca de Oporto), el 3 de marzo.

 

El tema que se desarrolló es: “Crisis e innovación en la gestión del deporte: no hay salida sin cambio de paradigma”. Este mismo tema ha sido el desarrollado en el Foro Olímpico de Barcelona, en el pasado mes de noviembre, y al que asistió D. José María Constantino.

El congreso se celebró en TECMAIA.

JOAN ANTON CAMUÑAS, OUR FRATERNITY MEMBER CAMUÑAS, HAS BEEN A SPEAKER IN THE FIRST NATIONAL OLYMPIC CONGRESS OF PORTUGAL

 

Our member and Chairman of the Forums and Conferences Committee, Joan Antón Camuñas, has been invited by the President of the Olympic Committee of Portugal, Dr. Joseph M. Constantino, to participate in the inaugural conferences of the 1st. National Olympic National Congress of Portugal, which took place in the town of Maia (near Porto), March 3.

 

 The theme was developed: «Crisis and innovation in sport management: no output without change of paradigm.» This was the same theme that it has been developed in the Olympic Forum of Barcelona in last November, and attended by José María Constantine.

 

 The conference was held in TECMAIA.

ÉXITO DE PARTICIPACION EN LA INVESTIDURA DE SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA. PRIMERAS IMAGENES

Los actos de la Cofradía en Santiago de Compostela han sido un éxito de participación y de asistencia.

El sábado 8 de marzo la Cofradía celebró su asamblea general (Consejo General) en la que se dio cuenta de los avances y actividades desarrollados en 2013, destacando los Foros de Illa de San Simón, las conferencias desarrolladas por Joan Camuñas y el miniforo internacional y presentaciones NEA2 que tuvieron lugar en la tarde del 8.

Tras la asamblea los cofrades si dirigieron en comitiva encabezada por nuestro cofrade Jacinto Hernádez interpretando el antiguo himno del Reino de Galicia en su gaita. Se entró a la Catedral donde se situaron los cofrades y acompañantes para realizar la ofrenda al Apostol.

La ocasión hizo que la misa del Peregrino fuera presidida por el Obispo Brasileño de Sao Paolo, una muestra mas de nuestra relación internacional de la Cofradía con los países de Iberoamérica. A continuación se realizó la Ofrenda a cargo de nuestro Gran Maestre Francisco Quiroga y luego tuvo lugar el espectacular uso del Botafumeiro (incensario gigante) que tanto asombró a los asistentes.

Al finalizar la misa del peregrino la Cofradía fue recibida oficialmente en el Palacio de Raxoi por el Alcalde y una nutrida representación de la Junta de Gobierno del Ayuntamiento de Santiago. En la recepción y cocktail posterior se hizo entrega de una metopa de la Cofradía al Ilustrísimo Ayuntamiento con muestra de agradecimiento por su colaboración.

Por la tarde continuaron las actividades con el Miniforo internacional y presentaciones del NEA2 en el Hostal de los Reyes Católicos con un alto nivel de ponentes internacionales y de asistentes.

La Investidura de nuevos cofrades que ha tenido lugar en Santiago de Compostela el día 9 de marzo de 2014 ha sido todo un éxito.

La ciudad de la Cultura de Monte Gaiás acogió en su edificio administrativo los principales actos de la Investidura.

El día comenzó con una visita guiada a la Ciudad de la Cultura acompañados de dos guías donde se pudo observar la arquitectura de Peter Eisenman.

Posteriormente dio inicio el acto de investidura que estuvo presidido por el Presidente de la FEGAMP y alcalde de Ferrol, sede oficial de la Cofradía. Desde el primer momento la Banda de Música de Ferrol estuvo amenizando con distintas obras cada uno de los momentos del acto de Investidura.

Tras la bienvenida y dirigido por nuestro Canciller Xosé Luis Blanco, se procedió a la entronización de los nuevos miembros realizando su juramento y recibiendo la investidura de la Capa y el diploma que le acredita como miembro.

En nombre de los nuevos cofrades dirigió unas palabras un novicio, a todos los cofrades y asistentes. Finalmente el Gran Maestre dirigió unas palabras de bienvenida a los nuevos Cofrades y el Alcalde de Ferrol cerró el acto de investidura.

Ya en los exteriores se realizó la foto de familia de los cofrades nuevos y antiguos con las montañas que forman la viera de los peregrinos de uno de los edificios del Monte Gaiás.

Por último hubo tiempo para ir profundizando en la confraternización y colaboración entre los mas de 90 cofrades asistentes y acompañantes.

THE EVENTS OF THE INVESTITURE CEREMONY IN SANTIAGO HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL. FIRST IMAGES

 

The events of the European Sailing Fraternity in Santiago of Compostela has been a success of participation.

 

In the General Assembly on 8 March the Grand Master Francisco Quiroga explained the activities developed in 2013 like the San Simon Forum, the Joan Anton Conferences and the Internacional Miniforum and NEA2 presentations at the 8 afternoon.

 

At the end of the General Assembly all the members were  in doble file to the Cathedral. Jacinto Hernández with his bagpipe was playing the ancient Galician Himm at the beginning of the group. All members and companions were sit down in the Cathedral to participate in the offer to Saint James.

 

The mass was made by the Brasilian Sao Paolo Bishop, a coincidence and a show of our an international relation with South America. Our Grand Master made the Official Offer to Saint James and afterwards the Botafumeiro started to work in the Cathedral with the big surprised of the participants in the event.

 

At the end of the mass the Fraternity had an official Welcome in the Palacio de Raxoi by the Major and members of the Board of Directors of the municipality of Santiago de   Compostela. In this welcome event and post cocktail the Fraternity gave a gift to the Municipality as part of our thanks for the collaboration.

 

In the afternoon the main activity was the International Miniforum and NEA2 with an high level speakers and presentations in the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos.

 

The Investiture of the new members took place on 9 March 2014 in Santiago de Compostela.

 

The City of the Culture in Monte Gaias was the place to make the main activities of the Investiture.

 

The day started with a visit guided to the City of the Culture where it was possible to look the work of the architect Peter Eisenman.

 

Afterwards, the Investiture Ceremony started with the Grand Master and the Major of Ferrol and Chairman of the Galician Municipalities Federation (official address of the Fraternity) as the Presidency of the event. In all the event we could hear the music from the Ferrol Musician Band.

 

When the welcome has finished the Chancellor Xose Luis Blanco leaded the endowment ceremony where the Fraternity put the official capes and gave the official diploma as new member of the Fraternity.

 

In the name of the new members one of them talked to the rest of the members and companions. The Grand Master talked a welcome words to the new members and the Major of Ferrol closed the Ceremony.

 

Outside it was taken the official Photo of the new and ancient members with the Gaias Buildings with a shell shape at the back of the photo.

 

Finally all participants, 90, had a networking and talking time.

LA COFRADIA INVESTIRÁ A 32 NUEVOS COFRADES DE 11 PAÍSES EN SU CEREMONIA DE SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA EL 9 DE MARZO DE 2014

Desfile de entrada de novicios

La Cofradía sigue creciendo. Ha pasado en estos 3 últimos años desde 92 miembros en 2011 hasta los 210 en 2014. A nivel geográfico la Cofradía ha pasado de actuar y tener representación en 5 países hasta los 22 países actuales.

La importancia de los nuevos cofrades se observa:

• Son cuatro los que han elaborado libros como el Libro de la Náutica de Recreo de Portugal, artículos e imágenes sobre patrimonio histórico sumergido en ICOMOS (UNESCO) o la historia de la Vela Internacional Siglo XVIII y XIX.
• Cinco son han sido conferenciantes en eventos como Desarrollo azul para Portugal o en seminarios de la ISAF.
• La mayoría de los nuevos cofrades, 18 han tenido responsabilidades en la gestión de Clubes, Federaciones o entidades náuticas o en ámbitos relacionados con el deporte y la náutica en alguna Administración. Destacar presidentes de federaciones regionales y nacionales de vela, miembros de la ISAF, cofundadores de Sociedad Internacional de Fotografía Submarina, presidente de Comité Regional Olímpico o Presidentes de entidades Administradoras de Puertos.

De esta forma la Cofradía sigue incrementando sus conocimientos y capacidades como Think Tank a nivel internacional en el marco de la náutica y el mar.

THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY WILL ENDOWED 32 NEW MEMEBERS OF ELEVEN COUNTRIES IN HIS CEREMONY ON 9 MARCH IN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA

 

The European Sailing Fraternity is growing. It has increased its members from 92 in 2011 to 210 in 2014. Geographically, also The Fraternity has increased from 5 to 22 countries.

Nuevos cofrades con su diploma de miembro de la Cofradía

We can see the importance of the new members in these facts:

•  There are in the members four writers of books like The book of the Nautisme in Portugal, articles and photographies of undersea historical Heritage of ICOMOS (UNESCO) or the History of the International Sailing in XVIII and XIX centuries.
• There are five members with experience as speakers in forums and conferences like the Blue Development to Portugal or in the seminars of the ISAF..
• An important majority of the new Brothers, 18,  have been Chairman or Vice chairman in different Yacht Clubs, Federations,  nautical associations, or in the sports or nautical area in the public sector. There are chairman of the Regional and National Sailing Federations, members of the ISAF, cofounders of the International Diving Photography Society, chairman of the Olympic Regional Committee or chairman of Harbour Authorities.

MINIFORO INTERNACIONAL DE LA COFRADIA: LA VELA Y EL CAMBIO DE PARADIGMA EN LA CRISIS DE LA SOCIEDAD

Dentro de los actos de investidura de la CEV, la Comisión del Foro Internacional de la Vela  tiene previsto desarrollar un MINIFORO INTERNACIONAL que analizará el impacto de la crisis en el mundo de la vela desde diferentes perspectivas y ámbitos geográficos, así como las nuevas propuestas y soluciones que pueden apuntarse.

MINIFORO INTERNACIONAL: LA VELA  Y EL CAMBIO DE PARADIGMA EN LA CRISIS DELA SOCIEDAD “

Su justificación

La crisis actual no es únicamente  económica. Nuestra sociedad está sometida a cambios profundos en:

•  · Cambios geopolíticos que llevan a un cambio en el peso económico de los diferentes bloques en el mundo: Occidente pierde y Oriente gana
• ·  Desarrollo imparable de nuevas tecnologías, especialmente en el ámbito de la comunicación,  que revolucionan conceptos como la privacidad y modifican los procesos de aprendizaje y sistemas educativos
• ·  Cambio en la hegemonía de la cultura occidental y cambio en el posicionamiento de sus valores y principios en un contexto global. Los principios que creíamos universales, posiblemente ya no lo son tanto………. etc

Son nuevos escenarios que  suponen amenazas, pero también nuevas oportunidades.

Posiblemente las formas que conocemos y se han practicado para hacer frente a la crisis, no son siempre suficientes. Los modelos y enfoques tradicionales posiblemente ya no son tan válidos como antes. Al igual que en otras épocas de la historia, se hace necesario cambiar de paradigma, dar un salto en nuestra visión del mundo.

También el sector del deporte debe cambiar de paradigma. La dificultad como casi siempre es acertar con el nuevo paradigma en el que movernos.

Desde el ámbito de la vela y las actividades náuticas hemos de hacer también esta misma reflexión y apuntar la dirección de los cambios.

Su desarrollo

Mediante unas presentaciones breves y los diálogos posteriores, los ponentes expondrán  los impactos más fuertes que la crisis y los grandes cambios en el mundo, generan en su ámbito de experiencia del deporte de la vela.

También expondrán las actuaciones que han tenido lugar para hacer frente a esos nuevos retos y cambios.

Finalmente nos propondrán su propia visión y enfoque de futuro.

INTERNATIONAL –FORUM OF THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY: SAILING AND THE PARADIGM CHANGE IN A SOCIETY CRISIS»

Among the events in the Investiture Ceremony of the European Sailing Fraternity, the  International Sailing Forum Committee plans to develop an INTERNATIONAL mini-forum where it will be analyze the impact of the crisis in the sailing world from different perspectives and geographical areas, as well as appoint new proposals and solutions to this situation.

Its justification

The current crisis is not only economic. Our society is under deep changes in these areas :

· Geopolitical changes that lead to a change in the economic weight of the different blocks in the world : Western loses and Eastern wins

· Unstoppable growth of new technologies, especially in the field of communication, revolutionizing concepts like privacy and modify the learning processes and educational systems.

· Change in the hegemony of Western culture and change in the positioning of their values ​​and principles in a global context. The principles that we thought were universal ,possibly they are not so much ………. etc.

They are new scenes of threats, but also new opportunities.

Possibly, the ways we know and have practiced to deal with the crisis, they are not always enough. Traditional models and approaches are possibly not as good as before. As in other periods of history, it becomes necessary to change the paradigm and to step forward in our worldview .

Also the sport sector must change the paradigm. The difficulty is like always to hit with the new paradigm in which we should move.

From the field of sailing and nautical activities we must also do the same reflection and point in the direction of change .

Through brief presentations and subsequent discussions, the speakers will present the strongest impacts of the crisis and the major changes in the world, are generating in their area of ​​expertise of the sport of sailing.

Also they will expose the actions that have taken place to address these new challenges and changes .

Finally they will propose their own vision and focus for the future.

ENCUENTROS TRANSATLANTICOS ENTRE COFRADES DESDE O GROVE A PUERTO RICO Y DESDE LAS PALMAS AL CARIBE

Nuestros cofrades siguen estrechando lazos entre los dos lados del Atlántico y fomentando la colaboración y el espíritu de la vela. Dos han sido las travesías que se han realizado cruzando el Atlántico a finales de este 2013. Han sido llevadas a cabo por nuestros cofrades y colaboradores Francisco Lufinha y Nacho Bolivar (hijo de nuestro cofrade Luis Bolivar).

1.- Travesía O Grove-Tazacorte-La Palma-Puerto Rico.

Nacho Bolivar, amigo, colaborador de la cofradía e hijo de nuestro cofrade Luis Bolivar, ha organizado este viaje con amantes de la vela y el mar en la Goleta Peregrina.

A su llegada a San Juan de Puerto Rico, nuestro cofrade y Canciller Xose Luis Blanco y su esposa Pilar le realizaron una calurosa bienvenida en su tierra de acogida y le dispensaron una atención propia de cofrades.

Nuestros navegantes estuvieron  un día de ruta con nuestro cofrade anfitrión por San Juan y luego fueron todos juntos a cenar. El día que nos volvimos en avión Xosé Luis nos recogió en el hotel y nos llevó al aeropuerto. Tratamiento y atención propias de la Cofradía.

2.- Travesía Las Palmas – Caribe.

Nuestro cofrade Francisco Lufinha en el Catamarán Sao Francisco IV fue recibido en Las Palmas de Gran Canaria por nuestro cofrade Enrique Boisier. El 24/11/2013 Enrique y su mujer Lassie, nos acomparon a Lufinha y su tripulación y hizo de anfitrión durante toda la semana que estuvimos en la Palmas antes de iniciar al ARC (Regata Atlántica de Cruceros). Ha sido un privilegio que un cofrade como Enrique Boisier, que ha realizado esta Travesía 4 veces, nos despidiera en nuestra salida desde las Palmas.

Desde aquí, nuestro cofrade Francisco Lufinha, quiere agradecer el verdadero espíritu de amistad y solidaridad náutica propio de nuestra cofradía a través del reconocimiento público de La tripulación del São Francisco IV a Enrique Boissier y su esposa por La compañía y apoyo mostrados en nuestra estancia en Las Palmas.

TRANSATLANTIC FRATERNITY MEETINGS FROM O GROVE (GALICIA) TO PUERTO RICO AND FROM LAS PALMAS TO THE CARIBBEAN SEA

 

Our brothers of the Fraternity are strengthening ties between the both sides of the Atlantic Ocean and fostering collaboration and the spirit of sailing. There were two transatlantic crusiers that have been made across the Atlantic this end of 2013 . They have been carried out by our brothers and collaborators Francisco Lufinha and Nacho Bolivar (son of our brother Luis Bolivar )

1 – . Cruise from O Grove (Galicia)- Tazacorte -La Palma- Puerto Rico .

 Nacho Bolivar collaborator, friend, partner and son of our brother, Luis Bolivar, has organized this trip with lovers of sailing and the sea in the schooner Pilgrim.

On arrival at San Juan de Puerto Rico, our brother and Chancellor Xose Luis Blanco and his wife, Pilar, have given a warm welcome in their adopted land and dispensed old his care as a brothers.

Our sailors were a day’s route with our host brother Xose Luis for San Juan and then they went to dinner together. The day we came back Xosé Luis picked us up at the hotel and took us to the airport. Own treatment and care of the Brotherhood .

Our brother Francisco Lufinha in his Catamarn IV Sao Francisco was in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with our brother Enrique Lufinha. The 24/11/2013 Enrique and his wife Lassie , were with Lufinha and his crew and played host during the entire week. We were in Las Palmas before starting the ARC (Atlantic Race of Cruisers) . It has been a privilege to be with Enrique Boissier a brother that has done this cruise 4 times, and sacked us on our departure from Las Palmas

Our brother Francisco Lufinha wants to give thanks to Enrique Boissier and Lassie for the true spirit of friendship and solidarity that they showed us, as a public recognition of the crew of the São Francisco IV to them for the company and support shown to our stay in Palmas.

Presencia de la Cofradía en el Salón Internacional Nautic 2013 (París, Francia)

Francisco Quiroga Martínez y François Arbellot-Repaire participaron en diciembre de 2013 a una entrevista en el Stand del Web Mag du Quai 33 del Salón Náutico de París «Nautic 2013»  para presentar los Juegos Naúticos Atlánticos 2014 que celebrarán su vigésima edición en Países de Lora, Francia. Este evento ha marcado la Historia de la colaboración europea en el ámbito del turismo náutico y el sector náutico en general: de esta concentración nacieron los proyectos europeos NEA1 y NEA2, así como muchas colaboraciones transfronterizas e interregionales a lo largo de toda la fachada atlántica europea.

LA WEB DE LA COFRADIA ALCANZA EN 2013 UN TOTAL ACUMULADO DE 25859 PAGINAS VISTAS Y 3868 VISITANTES.

Con las 11000 páginas vistas en 2013 la web www.eurocofradevela.com alcanza las 25.859 vistas. Esto supone un mantenimiento de las vistas con respecto a 2012.

Lo que se ha incrementado es el número de artículos que ha alcanzado 82 de los cuales 30 han sido en 2013. Esto implica un incremento del 142% en el número de artículos creados con respecto a los 21 del año 2012.

Respecto a las imágenes se ha incrementado el número de imágenes subiendo 171 nuevas durante el 2013.

El número de seguidores se sitúa en 35 y se ha experimentado un incremento importante en los comentarios realizados al portal de la Cofradía.

Este año los apartados mas visitados han sido el de miembros, galería de imágenes, misión, investiduras y que es la cofradía. Esto en parte se debe a que se ha reorganizado durante el 2013 la web para ofrecer contenidos para los miembros pero también para los interesados en el mundo y las personas de la vela. La galería de imágenes al igual que el 2012 sigue siendo la zona mas visitada.

Los visitantes han procedido de 61 países continuando España, Portugal y Estados Unidos como principales países de origen. Estados unidos con 273 se distancia del resto de países excepto la península ibérica, seguido de Brasil con 131 visitas retrocediendo un poco respecto al 2012. Otros países  son Argentina, Chile, Perú, Colombia, Venezuela, Angola y de Europa Italia, Alemania Francia y Reino Unido entre otros.

El artículo mas comentado en 2013 ha sido el de Juan Marrero Portugués, nuestro cofrade de las Palmas de Gran Canaria deja la Presidencia del Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria.

THE WEB OF EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY REACHED A TOTAL CUMULATIVE 25859 PAGE VIEWS AND 3868VISITORS   IN 2013

 

In 2013 with 11,000 page views of website http://www.eurocofradevela.com reaches 25,859 views. This is a maintenance of views with respect to 2012.

 

What it has increased in 2013 is the number of articles with 30 in this year, they have reached 82 in total. This implies an increase of 142% in the number of items in relation to the 21 of 2012.

 

Images in the website has increased the number up 171 new in 2013.

 

The number of followers is 35 and the website has experienced significant growth in the comments.

 

This year the most visited sections have been: members, gallery of images , mission, investitures and what is the brotherhood . The changes are partly because it has been reorganized in 2013 to provide web content for members but also for those interested in the world and the people of the sailing and nautical sector. The gallery of images like the 2012 is still the most visited area.

Nuestro cofrade Joan Antón Camuñas ha desarrollado una gran actividad de difusión y sensiblización sobre el papel del mar, el deporte y la vela. El hecho de que un miembro del capítulo de Baleares invitara a otro miembro de la Cofradía nos habla del papel que la red de expertos de la Cofradía puede desempeñar en el apoyo a otras instituciones a la hora de definir y reflexionar sobre su futuro y forma parte de uno de los objetivos primordiales de la Cofradía.

 

Desde la Cofradía esperamos e invitamos al resto de cofrades a continuar con esta línea y a detectar en su entorno necesidades de reflexión y apoyo entre las entidades que actúan sobre el mar y que soliciten la colaboración desinteresada de nuestros cofrades para hacer llegar las aportaciones que solo la experiencia puede crear.

 

 

Joan Antón ha desarrollado una conferencia en el mes de octubre coincidiendo con el  X Forum Olímpico de Barcelona y otra en noviembre en Ciutadella coincidiendo con el 90 aniversario del club e invitado por nuestro también cofrade Rafael Torrent.

 

La conferencia de Barcelona tuvo por título “No hay salida de la crisis sin cambio de paradigma”, y se enmarcaba en el Foro que la Fundación Barcelona Olímpica organiza cada año, y que en éste desarrolló el tema Deporte y Economía: modelos de futuro.

 

La tesis que sostuvo el conferenciante es que cuando en la sociedad se producen cambios importantes, los paradigmas tradicionales pierden validez y es necesario sustituirlos por otros que expliquen mejor la nueva situación, y ofrezcan mejores líneas de salida.

 

La crisis actual, que no es únicamente económica, difícilmente será superada utilizando esquemas y modelos que ya han quedado obsoletos. No se trata de hacer simplemente mejor lo que ya se hace, sino hacer aquello que la nueva situación exige: es necesario un cambio de paradigma.

 

Las crisis se perciben como amenazas, pero son también la mejor oportunidad de reinventarse y avanzar.  Los grandes desarrollos de la humanidad siempre han venido después de las crisis y la asunción de nuevos paradigmas. No hacer el cambio necesario en los momentos clave, puede llevar a la desaparición.

 

Algo que ha cambiado sustancialmente y en forma muy rápida es el equilibrio geopolítico en el mundo. Europa ha perdido peso económico y político, mientras que el bloque asiático liderado por China, ha irrumpido con una fuerza tremenda, discutiendo paradigmas hasta ahora intocables en Occidente, como el propio estado del bienestar. Eso no tan solo no irá a menos, sino que irá a más.

 

También el mundo del deporte sufre cambios importantes y ha de hacer una profunda reflexión.

 

En Europa hay menos dinero para el deporte. Dentro de la propia práctica deportiva, la crisis deja cada vez menos recursos disponibles a los ciudadanos, con una notable repercusión en la pérdida de socios en los clubes, en las empresas y en los recintos deportivos.

Al mismo tiempo, emergen otras formas de hacer deporte, más baratas e incluso gratuitas, que están creciendo muchísimo en estos años: ciclismo en carretera, running, triatlón, maratón, natación de aguas abiertas, ….. etc.

 

El deporte también pasa a un dominio más público, en el que las administraciones a todos los niveles, intervienen y asumen cada vez mayor protagonismo en su gestión y desarrollo.

 

El derecho deportivo, hasta ahora intocable, queda cada vez más subsumido en el derecho común, y las federaciones dejan de tener su peso tradicional, ya que la propia economía las lleva a adoptar formas empresariales o a quedar relegadas a funciones reglamentarias y disciplinarias en las primeras instancias. Temas como el dopaje y el control económico de las competiciones y derechos de clubes y deportistas, van por ahí

 

 

 

 

 

Algunas de las líneas del nuevo paradigma que apuntaba Camuñas, pasan por:

 

• Deporte más abierto y menos reglado, más fácil y barato. Un deporte más cerca de la sociedad y como un instrumento de construcción y bienestar social.
• Una gran separación entre las diferentes formas del deporte: la práctica amateur, la profesional y el deporte-espectáculo, que llevarán a formas muy diferenciadas en su gestión.
• Por parte de los clubs, definirse e identificarse de forma muy clara ante el mercado: o liderazgo en coste o diferenciación. Los que se queden en medio, lo pasarán mal. No todos pueden jugar la Champions …
• Las federaciones tendrán que generar sus propios recursos, ya que habrá menos recursos públicos para ellas. Tendrán que hacer más de empresa. Confiar menos en el patrocinio y más en el marketing. Saber vender más que saber pedir
• Entender que los grandes espectáculos deportivos tenderán a desplazarse hacia los países que ahora son ricos: Asia, Emiratos, ….. Aquí ya no se pueden pagar, y no se confía en que puedan hacerlo. Habrá que verlos por la tele.
• Necesidad ineludible de profesionalización a todos los niveles.
• Mayor cooperación entre el deporte asociativo, las empresas y las administraciones.

 

El deporte será una manifestación más abierta, más globalizada, más cerca de las posibilidades de los diferentes tipos de colectivos, con una función social más potente, y en el que la cooperación de los clubs y las federaciones con las administraciones y las empresas, será totalmente necesaria.

Respecto a la conferencia sobre el impacto y legado de los deportes náuticos en la sociedad celebrada en Ciutadella en el Club Náutico de Ciutadella el 22 de noviembre con ocasión de los actos de cumplimiento de los 90 años del club se acompaña una reseña de Fel Torrent LLopis (Club Náutico de Ciutadella)

«A propuesta del comodoro del club náutico de Ciutadella de Menorca Rafael Torrent, cofrade de nuestra asociación y en uno de los actos celebrados por este club durante las celebraciones del 90 aniversario de su fundación, nuestro amigo y cofrade Joan Antón Camuñas, dió una estupenda conferencia con el título de IMPACTO Y LEGADO DE LOS DEPORTES NAUTICOS EN LA SOCIEDAD durante la cual explicó ante una nutrida asistencia, como a través de los deportes náuticos, sus instituciones (los clubes) sus acontecimientos (regatas, campeonatos, cursos) contribuyen a mejorar la sociedad donde viven, explorando los impactos tanto e conómicos, ambientales, urbanos. educativos, salud y cohesión social que tienen estos deportes.

Estuvieron presentes en la conferencia el Ilmo. alcalde de Ciutadella, el conseller de deportes del Consell de Menorca, los presidentes de los clubes náuticos de la isla, el gerente de la Asociación de clubes náuticos de Baleares y numerosas personas interesadas en los deportes náuticos especialmente los referidos al mundo de la vela.

Our colleague Joan Anton Camus has develop an important media activities about the role of the sea, sports and sailing. The fact that a member of the chapter of Balearic invited another member of the Brotherhood talks about the role that the expert of the Fraternity can play in supporting other institutions to study and think about his future and these type of activities are one of the primary objectives of the Brotherhood.

 

From the Fraternity we expect and invite the other brothers to continue this line in their territories and help to detect among entities with similar aims on the sea matters and requesting the collaboration of our Brothers-Experts their to deliver their experiences..

 

Joan Anton has developed a conference in October in the X Forum Olympic in Barcelona and other in November in Ciutadella coinciding with the 90th anniversary of the Yatch Club and also invited for our colleague Rafael Torrent.

 

The Barcelona conference was entitled » No way out of the crisis without paradigm shift » and was part of the forum that the Barcelona Olympic Foundation organizes every year, and in this year developed about Sports and Economics : future models.

 

The view expressed by the speaker is that when major changes in society occur, traditional paradigms become invalid and need to replace them by other to better explain the new situation, and provide better output lines.

 

The current crisis is not only economic, hardly be overcome using diagrams and models that have become obsolete. It is not enough to do what you already do, you have to do all that  the new situation demands: we need a paradigm change.

 

Crisis are perceived as threats , but also the best opportunity to reinvent and advance. The major developments of humanity have always come after the crisis and the assumption of new paradigms. Not make the necessary change in the key moments , it can lead to the disappearance .

 

Something has changed substantially and very quickly in the geopolitical balance in the world. Europe has lost economic and political weight , while the Asian bloc led by China, has erupted with tremendous force , discussing paradigms untouchable in the West, as the welfare state itself. That will not only not less , it will be more important in the future..

 

Also the sports world has important  changes and it has to take a long look..

 

In Europe there is less money for the sport. Within the sport itself, the crisis leaves fewer resources available to citizens, with a significant impact on the loss of members in clubs , companies and sports grounds.

 

At the same time, other forms of emerging sports , cheaper and even free , they are growing a lot over the years: road cycling , running, triathlon , marathon, open water swimming , … etc .

 

Sport also goes to a public domain, in which governments at all levels involved and assume an increasingly important role in its management and development.

 

The sports law, until this moment untouchable, is increasingly subsumed under the common law, and federations longer have their traditional weight because the economy itself leads them to make business forms or be relegated to regulatory and disciplinary functions in the first instances. Topics such as doping control and economic rights and Competitions Clubs and athletes go around that.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Some of the lines of the new paradigm pointing by Camuñas , pass by:

• Sports more open and less regulated , easier and cheaper . A sport closer to society and as an instrument building and social welfare.

• A large separation between the different forms of sport: practice amateur , professional and sports-entertainment that take very different forms in its management.

• On behalf of the clubs, defined and identified very clearly to the market : either cost leadership or differentiation leadership. Those who stay in the middle, it will badly. Not everyone can play the Champions …

• The federations will have to generate its own resources, as there will be fewer public resources for them. They will have to do more as Business companies. Rely less on sponsorship and more on marketing . To know to sell instead of to ask for.

• Understand that major sporting events will tend to move to countries that are now rich: Asia , Emirates, ….. Here we can not pay them, and they do not trust that we will do it in the future. We will have to see them on TV.

• Professionalisation will be inescapable need at all levels .

• Greater cooperation between sport associations, companies and administrations.

 

The sport will be a more open, globalized , closer to the capabilities of different types of groups, with a stronger social role , and in which the cooperation of clubs and federations with administrations and businesses will rally absolutely necessary .

Regarding the conference on the impact and legacy of water sports in the society held in Ciutadella at the Yacht Club of Ciutadella on 22^th November  during the activities of the 90 years of the clubw we show the review of  Fel Torrent  LLopis ( Yacth  Club of Ciutadella)

 

» Under the proposal of the Commodore of the Yacht Club Ciutadella, Rafael Torrent, Brother of our association and in one of the events held by the club during the celebrations of the 90th anniversary of its founding, our friend and colleague Joan Anton Camuñas , gave a great conference entitled IMPACT AND LEGACY oF SPORTS iN SOCIETY during which explained to a large public, how  water sports , its institutions (club ) their events ( races , championships and courses ) contribute to improving the society they live, exploring both economic , environmental, urban. educational impacts, health and social cohesion with these sports.

 

Were present at the conference the Mayor of Ciutadella , the Minister of Sports of the Consell of Menorca, the presidents of the yacht clubs on the island, the manager of the Association of Balearic yacht clubs and numerous people interested in water sports and especially in the world of sailing..

Se informa que la Investidura de Santiago de Compostela del 7 al 9 de marzo están teniendo una gran acogida entre los cofrades e invitados. 

Actualmente hay 65 personas inscritas, de los cuales 22 son nuevos cofrades.

Se actualiza la información relativa a los hoteles segun indica el Comité de Investidura presidido por Pedro Rey:

•       La Comisión de Investidura de la Cofradía ha realizado una pre-reserva de 35 habitaciones en el Hostal de los Reyes Católicos a 155,00 € habitación doble con alojamiento y desayuno por día. (140,00 € en uso individual).
•       También se ha realizado pre-reserva de 30 habitaciones en el NH-Obradoiro***** (muy próximo al Hostal Reyes Católicos) a 85,00 € habitación doble con alojamiento y desayuno por día y 75,00 € habitación uso individual con desayuno incluido. En ambos caso iva incluido.
•      La tercera opción es el Gran Hotel Santiago (situado al sur de Santiago de Compostela) donde se ha realizado una pre-reserva de 30 habitaciones al precio de 50,00 € por habitación/noche sin desayuno o 62,00 € por habitación/noche con desayuno en habitación doble y 56,00 € por habitación/noche con desayuno en habitación doble uso individual. (desayuno buffet)                
•       En el caso de contactar con los alojamientos con pre-reserva indicar que se pertenece al grupo “cofradía Europea de la Vela”. En el caso de alojarse en un hotel distinto a los anteriores se ruega remitir correo electrónico a eurocofradevela@gmail.com indicando su asistencia a los actos para llevar un control de asistencia a las actividades.

GREAT INTEREST IN THE INVESTITURE EVENT OF THE EUROPEAN SAILING FRATERNITY. LAST NEWS.ON 20.12.2013

The Investiture of Santiago on 7-9 of march, 2013 is waking up a great interest among Brothers and guests.

 Actually, there are 65 people register and 22 are new members.

 

We update the information about the hotels under the Investiture Committee and the Chairman Pedro Rey:

 

• The Fraternity has done advance booking of 35 rooms in the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos to the price of 155.00 €  double room with bed and breakfast per day. (140.00 € single occupancy).  .
•           There has been another pre -booked of 30 rooms at the NH – Obradoiro ***** (close to the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos) to the price of 85,00  € double room with bed and breakfast per day and 75,00 € single room with breakfast. Both prices VAT included.
•           The third option is Gran Hotel Santiago (South of Santiago de Compostela) with a pre-booked of 30 rooms to the price of 50,00 € per room without breakfast (single and double same price) and 62,00 per room and night in double room with breakfast and 56,00 € single room per room and night with breakfast.(buffet breakfast)
•           In the case of contact pre-booked accommodation you have to indicate that it belongs to the «Cofradia Europea de la Vela». EL COFRADE PEDRO MENDONÇA GANA A SUS 78 AÑOS EL CAMPEONATO DE EUROPA CLASE SOTO40 EN SU BIGAMIST

Es una alegría para la cofradía dar a conocer la victoria de nuestro cofrade Pedro Mendonça del Capítulo de Lisboa en el Campeonato de Europa de la Clase Soto40.

Es realmente la esencia de la Cofradia y un ejemplo para todos nosotros y para todos aquellos que alcanzando una edad puedan ver en nuestro cofrade un camino a seguir que nos anime a continuar la práctica de la vela con independencia de los años que se hayan cumplido.

Desde la Cofradía se anima a todas las personas mayores a continuar o iniciarse en la vela o en los deportes o actividades vinculadas al mar, así como anima a las empresas a ofrecer productos y servicios adaptados a todos aquellos que traspasada una edad desean tener novas experiencias con la seguridad y adaptación necesarias para vivirlas con tranquilidad.

Bigamist» ganha título europeu ao vencer na sardenha na classe soto40. Quinta-Feira, 19 setembro de 2013 | 02:32

O “Bigamist”, de Pedro Mendonça, sagrou-se campeão da Europa da classe Soto40, ao vencer o terceiro e último evento da competição, Settimana delle Bocche YCCS, disputado em Porto Cervo, na Sardenha. O Europeu foi bastante competitivo e longo, tendo o “Bigamist” conseguido superar a armada alemã e restantes participantes, ainda que se tenha deparado com dificuldades inesperadas, como a falta de velocidade. Para anular tal handicap, foi necessário fazer investimentos de aperfeiçoamento de velas e de todo o equipamento da embarcação.

Mas nem tudo correu de feição, uma vez que um incidente no último dia de prova provocou alguma tensão entre tripulações, pois o “Bigamist” e a equipa francesa “Glen Ellen XXII” apresentaram mutuamente um protesto. O júri internacional considerou-o, no entanto, improcedente, tendo-se mantido o resultado.

O “Bigamist” é composto por: Pedro Mendonça (armador), Afonso Domingos, (skipper), Hugo Rocha (tático), Nuno Barreto (trimer), Luís Neves (mastro), Gilberto Conde (proa), Renato Conde (piano), Nano Negrin (trimer), Carlos Freire (navegador), Luís Vasconcelos (trimer), Paulo Joeirinho (manutenção) e José Alves (mergulhador).

It’s really the essence of the Fraternity and an example for all of us all and for all of those age to see how our brother continues the practice of sailing and it will encourage us to continue too, independence of the age.

 

Since the Brotherhood we encouraged all people to continue or start in sailing or in sports or activities related to the sea and we encourage businesses to provide products and services adapted to all the people of those age who wish to have new safety experiences in a adaptive environment.

Bigamist wins European Champions in in class soto40in Sardinia on Thursday , September 19, 2013

 

The «Bigamist» of Pedro Mendonça, became champion of Europe Soto40 class by winning the third and final event , to the “Settimana delle Bocche YCCS”, held in Porto Cervo, Sardinia. The European Champion was very competitive and long. The»Bigamist» managed to overcome the German sailinboat and the other participants, although they were encountered by unexpected difficulties, such as lack of speed. To counter this handicap, it was necessary to make investments to improve the sails and all the equipment of the vessel

 

But not everything went the feature, because an incident on the last day of the event caused some tension between crews of the » Bigamist » and the French team «Glen Ellen XXII» present both a protest. The international jury found the incident unfounded, and remained the result.

 

The crew of the Bigamist was: Pedro Mendonça ( owner ) , Afonso Domingos (skipper), Hugo Rocha (tactical), Nuno Barreto (trimer), Luís Neves (mast) , Gilberto Conde (bow) , Renato Conde (piano), Nano Negrin (trimer), Carlos Freire (browser), Luis Vasconcelos (trimer), Paul Joeirinho (maintenance) and José Alves (diver).

LA TABLA SE REUNE EN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA PARA APROBAR LOS NUEVOS COFRADES

La Tabla (Junta Directiva) de la Cofradía se ha reunido en el incomparable marco de la ciudad de Santiago de Compostela el 25 de octubre.

A esta reunión asistieron todos los miembros, excusando su asistencia Antonio Roquette y Xose Luis Blanco, ambos en Sudamérica. Nos acompañó como invitado Vicente Alonso Pinheiro.

El lugar de reunión fue la casa de nuestro Comodoro Ramón Sabín, quien previamente a la reunión nos homenajeó con una comida de confraternización.

El principal tema de debate fue la aprobación de la incorporación de nuevos cofrades. En la misma se acordó la incorporación de 32 nuevos miembros de las siguientes procedencias: 6 de Oporto, 1 de Lisboa, 6 de Galicia, 1 del País Vasco, 2 de Madrid, 1 de Cantabria, 2 de Paraguay, 2 de Italia, 1 de Chile, 1 de Francia, 1 de la República Dominicana, 1 de Reino Unido, 1 de Uruguay, 1 de Malta, 5 de las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Asimismo se acordó designar como cofrade de Honor a Santiago Bolivar Piñeiro por su apoyo incondicional a la Cofradía desde su nacimiento.

En otro orden de cosas se analizaron los proyectos y actividades desarrolladas en el 2013 destacando las siguientes:

De cara a 2014 se acordó estudiar las propuestas de proyectos presentadas por la Secretaría que versan sobre:

–         Exposiciones: se analizará la propuesta de una exposición sobre los grandes ilustres del mar.

–         Foros: la celebración de Foros CEV coincidiendo con el acto de Investidura y posibles líneas de ayuda para organizar un foro a nivel europeo y otro a nivel internacional.

–         Estudios. Se analizará la posibilidad de desarrollar un estudio sobre emprendimiento y yacimientos de empleo en la náutica en colaboración con la Universidad.

 Por último se acordó celebrar en conjunto el acto de Investidura y el Premio CEV en Santiago de Compostela el 7 a 9 de marzo de 2014.

BOARD OF DIRECTOS MET IN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA TO APPROVE NEW COFRADES

The Board of Directos met in the beautiful setting of the city of Santiago de Compostela on 25^th October .

The meeting was attended by all member , excusing his attendance Antonio Roquette and Xose Luis Blanco , both in South America. We were accompanied by the guest Vicente Alonso Pinheiro.

The place of the meeting was the home of our Commodore Ramon Sabin, who prior to the meeting honored us with a meal of fraternization.

 

The main topic of discussion was the incorporation of 32 new brothers from these places: 6 Oporto,1 Lisbon , 6, Galicia, 1 Basque Country, 2 Madrid, 1 Cantabria, 2 Paraguay, 2 from Italy, 1, 1 Chile, 1 France, 1 Republic Dominican , 1 United Kingdom, 1 Uruguay, 1 Malta and  5 Las Palmas .

 

It was also agreed to designate as Honor Brother to Santiago Bolivar Piñeiro for his unconditional support for the Brotherhood since birth support.

– Studies. The possibility of developing a study on entrepreneurship and new employment in collaboration with the University..

 

Finally it was agreed to hold together the act of investiture and CEV Prize in Santiago de Compostela on 7 to 9 March 2014.

Nuestro Cofrade Jaime Enseñat del Capítulo de Baleares nos ha abandonado.

Desde la Cofradía lo recordamos en los viajes de confraternización en los que participó y especialmente en el de Oporto–Douro y en las Palmas de 2012. Se une Jaime así a otras grandes figuras de la vela en España y en el mundo como Marcial Sánchez  Barcaiztegui y el Duque de Arión que también nos has abandonado.

Desde la cofradía nos hacemos eco de la despedida que algunos de los cofrades que mas lo han conocido nos han remitido a modo de carta de despedida.

Queridos amigos,

Por si alguno de vosotros no se hubiese enterado, os comunico que nuestro AMIGO Jaime Enseñat ha tomado la salida para su última singladura el pasado martes.

Nos ha dejado pues otro buen amigo gran Señor amante de la Vela por la que tanto ha trabajado con tanto éxito y desinteresadamente.

Qué os voy a contar de su Curriculum Vitae en nuestro Deporte que no lo sepamos los que bien los conocíamos y gozábamos de su Amistad.

Seguro que los vientos le están siendo favorables para llegar a buen puerto en el que sin duda descansará eterna y  placenteramente.

Camilo José Cela en Investidura de Ferrol

Reseña de Camilo José Cela Conde (Cofrade y Catedrático de la Universidad de Baleares)

A mi edad, se corre el peligro de recibir malas noticias cuando anda implicado un amigo por medio. Desaparecida ya —o casi— la generación de nuestros padres, nos encontramos nosotros en la primera línea de combate y enfrentados a un enemigo al que no podremos vencer. Rara es la semana en que no desaparece algún conocido y, si su nombre trasciende los ambientes familiares, las noticias vuelan. Más aún si se trata de alguien que muere a una edad en la que quienes la alcanzamos nos consideramos jóvenes —¡ay!— todavía. Eso es lo que ha sucedido esta semana con Toni Catany al llegar a ese desenlace tan inevitable a la larga como imprevisto a sus años. Tanto como para que la Universitat de les Illes Balears haya suspendido los actos de investidura como doctora “honoris causa” de Maria del Mar Bonet, su amiga del alma.

Peor aún resulta cuando la muerte le llega a alguien querido que contaba los años con los mismos dedos con los que lo hace uno mismo.  Aunque, si vivimos lo suficiente, ese riesgo desaparece poco a poco. Creo que alguna que otra vez me he referido a mi abuela Ignacia, vasca de Oyarzun —ella lo escribía así, no Oiratzun como impone la corrección política imperante ahora—, quien dejó de leer el ABC porque no conocía ya a nadie de los que salían en las esquelas. No es raro que fuera así porque murió con 101 años aunque ella sólo admitía —genio y figura hasta la tumba— 99. Pero cuando tienes casi un cuarto de siglo menos, el periódico te hunde de vez en cuando un puñal.

Jaime Enseñat ha muerto, decía este diario el miércoles, con un aldabonazo en portada. Yo ni siquiera sabía que estuviese muy enfermo porque, en realidad, padecer un achaque no formaba parte ni del ideario ni de las prácticas de Jaime. Siempre lo recordaré sentado en su despacho de presidente de la federación de vela en Calanova, ese puerto-escuela que tanto le debe —el Trofeo Princesa Sofía sirve como emblema de que es así—, con un café a mano y, si no recuerdo mal, el azúcar en una cucharilla aparte para tomársela en seco más tarde. Medir los tiempos es imprescindible cuando hay que ceñir contra el incómodo ajetreo del xaloc.

Decía Jaime Enseñat que le gustaría ser recordado como un hombre que trabajó toda su vida para la vela, el deporte que amaba. El deseo queda ya satisfecho desde el día mismo de su muerte, cuando las nenias que se le dedican hablan de las regatas que supo impulsar por encima de cualquier otra circunstancia. Hay que tener muchos, muchos años, para recordarle a bordo de su snipe pero ése fue el inicio del amor —recíproco— que se mantuvo entre Jaime y las aguas de la mar hasta el final. No podré ir a darle ese adiós último a el y un beso como rubrica a Begoña; Madrid queda demasiado lejos.

Desde Madrid, como cantaba Sabina, la mar no se puede concebir y, sin ella, Jaime se habría sentido desamparado. Por suerte para él, eso no sucedió jamás. Cuando me lo encontraba a bordo de cualquier avión despegando de Mallorca Jaime miraba siempre por la ventanilla. Incluso al ganar altura, los xotets se ven muy bien salpicando el azul de las aguas de la bahía con las virutas blanquísimas que parece que no se mueven de su sitio. A ciencia cierta que estaba calculando qué bordo acercaría más y mejor a la boya de barlovento, ésa que no parece nunca llegar.

Conheci o Jaime Enseñat nos anos sessenta durante o campeonato Ibérico em Palma de Mallorca em 1965 onde participei na classe Snipe.

Fizemos amizade mais recentemente nos anos oitenta em que ambos éramos membros do Permanente Committe da IYRU.

O Jaime foi sem dúvida um dos maiores impulsionadores da Vela nas Balleares não só como presidente da federação balear mas muito especialmente como directivo do Real Club Náutico de Palma.A ele se deve grande parte do sussesso do Trofeo princesa Sofia. A sua capacidade de organização ,com o seu carácter reservado, mas autoritário era impressionante e sempre atento aos mais pequenos detalhes.
A Confraria teve a honra de ter o Jaime como seu membro. Recordo com saudade a sua presença na Investidura em Canárias, que apesar da sua já debilitada saúde,quis marcar presença.

Termino enviando um carinhoso abraço a toda a família Ensenat e em especial a sua mulher Begona , que sempre,com alegria acompanhou seu marido nas suas actividades náuticas.

Cuando hace unos pocos días, Arturo Delgado nos comunicó a los cofrades la penosa noticia del fallecimiento de Jaime Enseñat, me llevé el consiguiente disgusto, aunque no me sorprendiera, pues ultimamente le cncontrabamos algo apagado. Por encargo del Gran Maestre conocedor de mi vieja amistad con Jaime (más de 40 años) he aceptado el encargo de hacer una breve nota necrológica, en la que pretendo expresar los sentimientos dolorosos, que tengo la certeza de que todos los cofrades compartimos, ente la desaparición de tan querido amigo.

Jaime Enseñat Velasco, fue para nosotros todo un ejemplo de caballerosidad, de sensatez y de buenos modos, virtudes que supo utilizar inteligentemente, para ser uno de los grandes impulsores de la Vela Deportiva en toda España, en especial desde su puente de mando como Presidente de la Federación de Vela de las Islas Baleares. Todos los medios de comunicación de Palma de Mallorca, su tierra natal, se han hecho eco de tan sensible perdida. Nosotros, desde nuestra Cofradía que compartió con nosotros, le tendremos con inmensa gratitud en nuestros pensamientos y, para su familia, nuestro sentimiento del pésame más sincero.

Our Brother Jaime Enseñat, member of the Chapter of Baleares, has abandoned us. From the Fraternity, we remember him on the trips of fraternization in which he participated and especially in the Douro-Porto and Palmas in 2012. Jaime joins to other great figures of sailing in Spain and in the World that also have forsaken us, as Marcial Sanchez Barcaiztegui and the Duke of Arion.

Dear friends,

 In you didn’t hear it, I announce that our friend Jaime Enseñat has taken out for his last voyage on Tuesday.

Another lover good and Lord friend has left us. Someone who has worked by sail so successfully and selflessly.

What will I tell you about his Curriculum Vitae in our sailing sport that we, who knew well and enjoyed his friendship, didn´t know.

Surely, the winds will be favorable to arrive to a good port where he will have his eternal and pleasantly rest.

Review of Camilo Jose Cela Conde (Brother and professor at the University of the Islas Baleares)

 

At my age, you have the risk of receiving bad news, in which can be involved a friend. When the generation of our parents has disappeared we find ourselves in the front line and facing an enemy that we can not overcome. Rare is the week that someone friend does not go away and, if his name transcends family environments, news travels fast. More when it has happened to someone who dies at an age which we consider young by those who has reached now. That’s what happened this week to Toni Catany who has reached that end so inevitable or as eventually unforeseen with his age. It has so much important that the Universitat de les Illes Balears has suspended, , the Maria del Mar Bonet, her soul mate, investiture acts as a doctor «honoris causa».

 

Worse it is when death comes to a loved person that counted the years with the same fingers as oneself. Although, if we live long enough, the risk gradually disappears. I think, occasionally, I referred to my grandmother Ignacia from Oyarzun in Basque-Country, she wrote well from his Oiratzun, not as it is imposed by the prevailing political correctness nowadays, of someone who stopped reading the ABC because she didn´t know anybody in the obituaries. It is not weird because he died 101 years old, although she only admitted as genius and figure to the grave 99 years old. But when you are nearly a quarter century, occasionally the newspaper can stick you a dagger.

 

Jaime Enseñat has died, a newspaper said on Wednesday, with a knock on the frontpage. Even I didn´t know that he was very sick because, in reality, suffering an ailment it wasn´t part ot the ideas or practices of Jaime. I’ll always remember sitting in his office as President of the Sailing Federation in Calanova, that school-port that helped so much the Princess Sophia Trophy, with a coffee at his hand and, if I remember correctly, one teaspoon sugar take it apart because he wanted to drink dry later. Measuring time is essential when you have to gird against bustle of the uncomfortable xaloc.

 

Jaime Enseñat said he would like to be remembered as a man who worked for sailing, the sport he loved, all his life. The desire is satisfied from the day of his death, when its nenias talk about the races who knew boost over any other circumstance. It is necessary to be really old, to remind him aboard his snipe but that it was the beginning of a reciprocal love between Jaime and the waters of the sea until the end. I can not give him this farewell and a  kiss as rubric to Begoña, Madrid is too far away.

 

From Madrid, as Sabina sang, the sea can not be conceived, and without it, Jaime Enseñat would have been helpless. Luckily for him, that never happened. When I met him on board of any aircraft taking off from Mallorca, Jaime always looked out the window. Even when the airplane gained height, xotets can be look great dotting the blue waters of the bay with very white waves that seem doesn´t move from their site. For sure he was calculating what it was the best board and the nearest top mark, that one which never seems to arrive.

Review of  Jorghe Pinheiro

I met Jaime Enseñat in seventies during or Iberian Championship in Palma in 1965 in Snipe Class.

 We built our friendship in eithties as members of IYRU Permanent Committee.

 Jaime was a sailing promoter in Baleares Islands as Presidente of the Baleares Federation as member of the board or diretors of the Palma Yatch Club. He is part of the sucesso f Princess Sophie Trophy. His organize capacity, his quiet personality and his authority were spectacular and he was observant with the smallest details. The Fratenity had the honour to have Jaime as its member. I remember his participation in the Investiture in Canary Islands where he wanted to stay in spite of his fragile health.

 I finish sending a big hug to all Enseñat´s Family and specially to his wife Begoña, Who always stayed close to his husband in his nautical activities.

Review of Juan Marrero Portuguese

When a few days ago, Arturo Delgado informed the brothers the sad news of the death of Jaime Enseñat, I took the ensuing disgust, although I was not surprise for it, because lately we saw him something off. On behalf of the Grand Master who knows my old friendship with Jaime (over 40 years) I have accepted the task of making a brief obituary, which I intend to express the painful feelings that I know that all the brothers share with the disappearance of so dear friend.

 Jaime Enseñat Velasco was for us a great example of chivalry, of good sense and good manners, virtues that he knew to use intelligently, to be one of the major drivers of Sports Sailing in Spain, especially as President of the Sailing Federation of the Baleares Islands. All media in Palma de Mallorca, his homeland, have talked about this sensitive loss. From our brotherhood that he shared with us, we will have a great gratitude in our thoughts and  our sincere condolences sentiment to his familya.

REUNION DE CONFRATERNIZACIÓN ENTRE MIEMBROS DEL CAPÍTULO DE GALICIA, ITALIA, PORTUGAL Y PARAGUAY EN OPORTO EL 14 Y 15 DE SEPTIEMBRE.

 

 

 

 

El mes de septiembre tuvo lugar una reunión de cofrades de varios capítulos en los que destaca la visita de Carlo Rolandi, expresidente de la Federación Italiana de Vela por primera vez a Oporto como cofrade. Por Paraguay asistió  Pablo Leiro, que deseaba mejorar la relaciones entre su país y los demás que forman parte de la cofradía.

Por ello, han elaborado y remitido las siguientes reseñas de la reunión.

Estimados miembros de la Cofradia

Los dias 14 y 15 de setiembre se llevo a cabo en Oporto una reunion de miembros de la cofradia europea de vela presidido por su Gran Maestre Don Francisco Quiroga y secundado por la presencia de Carlo Rolandi cofrade de Italia, Pablo Leiro cofrade por Paraguay y Guilherme Guimeraens,  cofrade del Capitulo de Porto, y Luis Bolibar del Capitulo de Galicia.

 

Dichos días sirvieron como un encuentro de familiarizacion de los cofrades de tan distintos y lejanos países anticipando lo que será la ceremonia de investidura de marzo 2014 en Santiago de Compostela,  ceremonia en la que se procedera a la investidura de los nuevos cofrades.

 

Teniendo como guía al cofrade.Guilherme Guimeraens  de oporto, los cofrades pudieron recorrer y apreciar las distintas bellezas que la ciudad de Oporto brinda a sus visitantes habiendo visitado el Club Portuense, la Librería Leao y la casa donde nació el infante Don Enrique el Navegante. También  el centro de la ciudad, la marina de Oporto y los Clubes Náuticos asentados en ella todo esto dentro de un ambiente de camaraderia y servicios de primer nivel donde fue posible degustar las delicias culinarias de Portugal a traves de sus mas variados y cálidos restaurantes.

 

La jornada fue propicia también para discutir la problemática de la vela en Iberoamerica y los futuros proyectos para afianzar aun mas a la Cofradia como faro de los navegantes en esta parte del mundo.

Caro Paco,
Rientrato a Napoli desidero ringraziare ancora una volta te,Guillermo e Bolivar per averci fatto trascorrere a Oporto una splendida giornata, facendoci vedere cose meravigliose che mai avremmo potuto vedere da soli.

FRATERNIZATION MEETING BETWEEN MEMBERS OF CHAPTER OF GALICIA , ITALY , PORTUGAL AND PARAGUAY IN PORTO ON 14^th AND 15^th SEPTEMBER .

 

 In Septemer there was a meeting of brothers of several chapters in Porto. It was to highlight that this is the first time that Carlo Rolandi as Brother and president of the Italian Sailing Federation visit  Porto. Pablo Leiro from Paraguay wanted to improve relations between his country and others that are part of the brotherhood.

 

Therefore, they have prepared and sent the following reviews of the meeting.

 

 

Review of Pablo Leiro

 Dear members of the Cofradia,

 On 14 and 15 September was held in Porto a meeting of members of the European Fraternity chaired by the Grand Master Don Francisco Quiroga and seconded by the presence of Carlo Rolandi brother of Italy, Pablo Leiro brother by Paraguay and Guilherme Guimerães , Brother of the  Chapter of Porto, and Luis Bolibar from the Chapter of Galicia. 

These days served as a familiarization meeting of the brothers of diverses countries and a preparation of the Investiture Ceremony in Santiago de Compostela in  March 2014 , where the new Brother will be invest as members of the Fraternity..

Guided by the cofrade, Guilherme Guimeraens of Porto, the brothers were able to go and see the different beauties that the city of Oporto offers to the visitors. The group visited the Club Portuense , the Library of Leao and the birthplace of Prince Enrique the Navigator. Also the city center, the marina of Porto and the Yacht Clubs were visited all of it within an atmosphere of camaraderie and first class services. It was possible to taste the culinary delights of Portugal through its most varied and warm restaurants. 

Also the day was propitious to discuss the problems of the sail in Iberomerica and future projects to strengthen even more the Cofradia as a beacon for sailors in this part of the world.

Dear Paco,

I have returned to Naples and I  would like give thanks to  Guillermo, Bolivar and you once again, specially  for letting us spend a wonderful day in Porto, and letting us see the wonderful things that we could never see yourself.

AVANCE DEL PROGRAMA DE ACTIVIDADES DE LA INVESTIDURA Y PREMIO CEV EN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA DEL 7-9 DE MARZO DE 2014.

La Cofradía Europea de la Vela ha aprobado en la reunión de la Tabla el primer avance de programa de actividades para la próxima investidura y entrega del Premio CEV a Peter Dirk Siemsen.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

La localidad elegida para estos actos ha sido Santiago de Compostela. Ciudad que acoge los restos del apostol Santiago después de su viaje en barco (según la leyenda en un barco de piedra) desde Jerusalén a Iria Flavia a través de la Ría de Arousa y ascendiendo a pie hasta Santiago.

La fechas elegidas serán del 7 al 9 de marzo de 2014. En Santiago habrá varios escenarios para las distintas actividades. Desde el Hostal de los Reyes Católicos, Parador Nacional de 5 estrellas, hasta la Catedral de Santiago con el Botafumeiro y pasando por la Ciudad de la Cultura situada en el monte Gaias de Santiago.

The European Sailing Fraternity approved the first proposal of the program of activities for the Investiture Ceremony and Fraternity Awards to Peter Dirk Siemsen. at the meeting of the board of directors. (Tabla)

 Santiago de Compostela has been chosen for locating these acts. In this city is the tomb of the Apostle Saint James after his boat trip ( according to legend in a stone boat ) from Jerusalem to Iria Flavia through the Arousa Bay and his transport walk to Santiago .

 The dates chosen are from 7^th to 9^th March 2014. In Santiago there will be different places for the different activities: The Hostal of the Catholic Kings (National Parador of 5 stars), the Cathedral of Santiago with his Botafumeiro and the City of Culture in Santiago mount Gaias.

 As well as the Investiture Ceremony and Fraternity Awards 3^rd edition to Peter Dirk Siemsen will take place the conferences of the Forum CEV, meetings of boards of the Fraternity and several acts of fraternization.

REUNION DE CONFRATERNIZACIÓN DE LA COFRADÍA Y SU REPRESENTANTE EN ECUADOR, OCTAVIO JARRÍN Y ESPOSA EL 11 DE SEPTIEMBRE EN MADRID

El pasado miércoles 11 de septiembre, el Gran Maestre Francisco Quiroga promovió una reunión cena de agradecimiento en Madrid de la Cofradía a Octavio Jarrín y Ana Dueñas (esposa), representante de la Cofradía en Ecuador y Presidente de la Federación Ecuatoriana de Vela.

En el acto estuvo representado el Capítulo de Galicia con el cofrade Gervarsio Cao, Ignacio Bolivar (Náutico Cormorán), Pablo Leiro Murdock (Paraguay) y familia, Antonio Vázquez Guillén (Capítulo de Madrid) acompañado por Elisa Antolí-Candela Guillén.

La razón de este encuentro, es el profundo agradecimiento que el Gran Maestre y resto de cofrades tenemos a Octavio, por habernos invitado a la regata Galápagos, a bordo del Buque Escuela Guayas de la Marina Ecuatoriana, el pasado septiembre del 2011.

Recientemente, el cofrade Octavio Jarrín nos ha remitió el programa de la regata para la próxima edición del 2014. A la vista del programa, uno siente una gran añoranza y la gratitud con Octavio, se hace mayor.

Viajó con el Gran Maestre, Nacho Bolibar (hijo de nuestro cofrade Luis Bolibar), quien tenía un gran interés en conocer a Octavio, para hablarle de la posibilidad de tener un barco en las Galápagos, con el que se podría participar en las regatas y mandar grupos a navegar, por el siempre seductor Pacifico, cuestión que se estudiará.

Comentar, que con motivo de un desafortunado accidente, sufrido por Ana Dueñas, esposa de Octavio, quien tuvo que acudir a un hospital, al conocer tal circunstancia, tengo que poner de manifiesto, que el cofrade Antonio y Elsa, se pusieran a disposición de Octavio, para acompañarlos al hospital en su propio coche, esta actitud, sin duda, pone de manifiesto la humanidad y amistad que preside la Cofradía. El Gran Maestre y Gervarsio Cao, queremos agradecer, ante todos los cofrades, a Antonio y a Elisa, la actitud, que como anfitriones han tenido con la familia Jarrín. Muchas gracias de corazón.

Escribo estas cuatro letras desde un hermoso pueblo, situado al norte este de Galicia, donde tenéis vuestra casa, Ribadeo, lugar donde se fraguó el nuevo espíritu de la Cofradía, con el nombre de » espíritu de Ribadeo »

Estimado amigos
Antes que nada agradezco el mail de Gervasio sobre nuestro encuentro en Madrid que ha sido lo mas agradable posible con la presencia de un amigo como Octavio Jarrim que mucho ha ayudado al Yacht Club Ypacarai y a Paraguay en el tema de la vela.

Asi mismo la posibilidad postergada tantas veces de conocer personalmente al Gran Maestre de la Cofradia Don Francisco Quiroga, un Señor excepcional que tiene al deporte de la vela corriendo por sus venas y que se ha convertido para todos nosotros en un referente en cuanto a la camaraderia y cordialidad reciproca que este deporte nos inculca.

Tambien llevo el mejor de los recuerdos de Don Gervasio un anfitrion en Madrid de primera linea y el deseo de conocer Ribadeo proximamente.

FRATERNIZATION MEETING OF THE BROTHERHOOD AND  ITS REPRESENTATIVE IN ECUADOR, OCTAVIO JARRIN AND HIS WIFE, ON 11^th SEPTEMBER IN MADRID

On last Wednesday 11th of September, the Grand Master Francisco Quiroga promoted a gratefulness dinner meeting in Madrid to the brother Mr. Octavio Jarrin and Ana Dueñas (his wife) as representative of the Brotherhood in Ecuador and ex-President of the Ecuadorian Federation of Sailing.

 

In the event, the brothers Gervasio Cao and Ignacio Bolivar (Nautico Cormoran company) represented the Chapter of Galicia, Pablo Leiro Murdock from Paraguay and his family, and Antonio Vazquez Guillen accompanied by Elisa Antolí-Candela Guillén from the Chapter of Madrid.

 

To illustrate what was discussed at the meeting we expose the comments made ​​by Gervasio Cao and Pablo Murdoch.

 

Review of Gervasio Cao.

The reason for this meeting is the deep appreciation that the Grand Master and other brothers have to Octavio Jarrin , for inviting us to Galapagos Race aboard the training ship Guayas of the Ecuadorian Navy, in last September 2011.

 Recently, our  brother Octavio Jarrin has sent the race program for the next edition in 2014 to us . When you read the program, you feel a great longing and gratitude by Octavio and it becomes larger .

 The Grand Master traveled with, Nacho Bolibar ( son of our brother Luis Bolibar ), who had a big interest to know Octavio to talk about the possibility of having a boat in the Galapagos Race, with the idea of participate in the races and send groups to sail there, by the always alluring Pacific , an issue that it will be study.

 I have to comment  the unfortunate accident suffered by Ana Dueñas , wife of Octavio , who had to go to the hospital. Knowing that fact by the rest of the participants in the meeting , I have to recognize behavior ot the brother Antonio and Elsa who accompanied them to the hospital in his own car. Certainly, this attitude shows the humanity and the friendship of the members of the Fraternity . The Grand Master and Gervasio Cao want to thank , first of all the brothers , to Antonio and Elisa, for their attitude as a host family have had with Jarrin . Thank you very much from our heart.

 I write these letters from a beautiful village, situated in the north east of Galicia , where all of you have your home, Ribade , where was forged the new spirit of the Brotherhood , “the» spirit of Ribadeo «

Estimado amigos

Dear friends

 First of all I have to give  thanks by the mai ofl Gervasio about our meeting in Madrid that it has been as enjoyable as possible with the presence of our friend Octavio Jarrim, who had helped so much to the Ypacarai Yacht Club and to Paraguay about the sailing matter.

 Also I want to give thanks by the possibility to meet the Grand Mastes of the Fraternity, Mr. Francisco Quiroga, an exceptional Lord  who has sailing  running through his veins and has become for us a benchmark in terms of camaraderie and mutual cordiality that this sport teaches us.

 We also carry the best memories of Mr. Gervasio, a front line host in Madrid, and I desire to know Ribadeo soon.

 I send a hug to everyone ,and as always I wish more and better wind to everyone!

JUAN MARRERO PORTUGUÉS NUESTRO COFRADE DE LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA DEJA LA PRESIDENCIA DEL REAL CLUB NÁUTICO DE GRAN CANARIA

Nuestro amigo y cofrade, Juan Marrero Portugués, Presidente del Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria desde hace 18 años ha dejado la presidencia del Club Náutico el 4 de septiembre de 2013.

Nuestro cofrade ha explicado que su marcha le produce una sensación agridulce: “Me voy orgulloso y satisfecho por el trabajo bien hecho, pero también triste porque han sido muchos años dedicados al club, del que me llevo grandes amigos y con el que colaboraré en lo que sea necesario”.

Además ha destacado el “gran prestigio internacional, nacional y, por supuesto, local del que goza el club”. Además, ha afirmado que uno de los motivos por el que su marcha se hace más llevadera es la “paz laboral” de la que goza la empresa.

El presidente también ha querido mencionar los grandes logros deportivos de los regatistas que conforman el Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, destacando los tres podios en campeonatos mundiales y los tres campeones europeos.. “No hay actualmente otro club náutico español que pueda igualar los logros que desde aquí hemos conseguido”, apuntó Marrero.

La Cofradía apoya a nuestro cofrade y cuenta con él para el desarrollo de nuevas y mas actividades de la fraternidad en la isla de Gran Canaria.

Agradecimiento a Juan Marrero por la recepción y el maravilloso acto de investidura celebrado en las Palmas este año y por los lugares visitados de la Isla durante los días que los miembros de la Cofradía estuvieron allí.

JUAN MARRERO PORTUGUÉS, OUR MEMBER FROM “LAS PALMAS DE GRAN CANARIA” LEAVES THE REAL YACHT OF GRAND CANARY

Our friend and colleague, Juan Marrero Portuguese, President of the Real Club Nautico of Gran Canaria from eighteen years has left the presidency of the Club Nautico on September 4, 2013.

Our member of Fraternity has explained that it is a bitter and sweet sensation to leave the Club and he said: “I leaved the Club proud and satisfied by the job made it, but I am a little sad because I have dedicated a lot of years to the Club. I bring with me great friends and I will continue collaboration with the Club in all that It will be necessary.

By other side, he has remained the “great international, national and local prestige of the Club”.  Besides, he said that one of the proud reasons of his time in the Club is to leave a Labour Peace in the company (Club).

The chairman has mentioned the great sports results of the sportsmen of the “Gran Canaria Yacht Club”. He remained the

The president also wanted to mention the great sporting achievements of the sailors that make up the Real Club Nautico of Gran Canaria, highlighting the three podiums in three world championships and the three  European champions. Marrero said that «There is not currently another Spanish yacht club with similar achievements”.

The Fraternity will wait to have more time from Juan Marrero to develop new and more  activities of the Cofradía on the island of Gran Canaria.

Thanks to Juan Marrero for the wonderful reception and investiture ceremony held at the Palms this year and thanks for the lovely journey around the island during the days in Palma of Grand Canary.
